Glad to see how determined he was to come here based on the comments of the Watford chairman - welcome back Brendan.

Cheapskates
I would have preferred us spending £2 million on a showbiz manager.
How is Brendan Rogers going to be able to raise the clubs profile on Sky Sports?
A year a go we had the chance to get Big Sam in and we blew it.

Just got this message from a Watford fan:

he should do a top job he turned us from long ball bollocks to playing like oxf*rd brazil... ppl at watford will hate him because he turned round and said he was 100% committed to the club and then left a week later but he will do well with you mate im sure he will prove ppl wrong

I like to judge a man on the company he keeps.

Jose Mourinho >>> Phil Brown.

But will he be just as determined to leave when a bigger club comes knocking?

Don't get me wrong, I'll be more than happy if Harper proves me wrong as it'll be good for the club. I just think Matejovsky's a far superior player.

If rodgers has got any sense he will play marek and tabb and flog harps, its time for a new start that does not include harps IMO

3. A year a go we had the chance to get Big Sam in and we blew it.

1. Who? Martinez would never have joined us, Fergie Jnr may have been the same.
2. Why is that important? He seems to have a good reputation within the footballing world and that is more important than the club's profile on Sky Sports.
3. Really? What evidence is there for that? I reckon if Coppell had gone we just would have appointed Rodgers a year earlier.

They will only come knocking if he's done a great job here first. One step at a time eh?

Well the games with Watford next season really will have a real taste of a local derby about them for once!

If they do then surely that means he'll have done a good job here, meaning he'll have been a good appointment? I'm quite pleased he clearly views us as such a great opportunity to be honest, I don't know why others aren't.

I've already said that. Christ, agreeing with all your posts is making me feel a bit weird.
