Some people are never satisfied.

I will go on record here and now by stating that I am more than comfortable with the appointment. I am actually quite excited about what the future holds.

Hmmmm, there I'm a little worried. He said publicly that he was 100% committed to Watford. Then days later, he tells the Watford board he wants to talk to us.

Well his comments came straight after the departure of SC when the media were trying to get their noses in front ,so it wasnt only days before but a good few weeks and he hadnt even been offered the job/interview then.So unless he had a mystic meg moment it would have been a very foolish thing to claim an interest in the post at such an early stage.

Just being honest with my *current* feelings though.

But as the first one to stick my neck out in defence of Parj when most of you wanted him out (and took heaps of criticism for it), and the first one to stick my neck out to say Coppell would go down as a great before he even joined (and took heaps of criticism for it again), proving to be right and humiliating my tormentors into silence twice in a row, I sincerely hope it's a case of "third time UNlucky" for me.

How a man who only has a record of 27 games (and even then not a hugely glorious one at all other than a jump of 6 positions with an ex-Prem squad in a poor Championship) is the answer to what is arguably the most important appointment in our history I don't yet understand.

But don't worry I'm not like some people here (no names need to be mentioned) who'll spout out the same embarrassing bullsh*t in arrogant defiance and will never admit to being wrong I often change my opinion as soon as it seems it's rubbish and I'm definitely open to being convinced about BR... and to be fair if it's a JM/NH/Howe appointment it's going to be good as more often than not these guys have got it right. And hey... even if I'm not convinced, I won't emulate the tosspots of the board by being negative all the time and will back the guy anyway, because he's our top man and will need our support through thick and thin.

I know there's only a few of them and you can't please all the people all the time and I should just accept that but I really can't get my head around this sort of reaction. Bizarre.

I am far more excited about this appointment than Pardew or Coppell. This guy is going places, quickly; I just hope we can keep pace with his development and ambition.

West Ham's Pardew bid was blocked but Brooking basically said, "Fcuk 'em we'll have him anyway". That's a good point. That should ease our consciences.

Rodgers has neither said nor done anything wrong or misleading, whatever Watford might suggest. He WAS committed to them, then when a potentially better offer came along he asked permission to talk about it. He didn't resign, he let the clubs sort out a compensation package first and then left, or was asked to leave, the club.

If it was ferguson it wouldn't have been as disrespectful. We are a much bigger club and he's rewarded them with two promotions.

Permission was sought to speak to the manager. This was granted.
Rodgers stated his desire to stay with Watford. Now he's Reading manager.

WATFORD FC regret to announce the departure of manager Brendan Rodgers to Championship Club Reading, he leaves his position after only seven months in charge at Vicarage Road.
