Murty back at Reading!!!???

by Royal Rother » 04 Jun 2009 20:06

This afternoon, Graeme Murty Defender Graeme Murty believes Reading have made an excellent decision to bring Rodgers back to the club where he enjoyed such success as academy boss.

"I think he is very suited. He knows the club very well and obviously he ran the academy so all the young players know him," Murty, who was told in May he would not be offered a new contract, told Sky Sports News.

"He is very technically astute and all I think it is a perfect appointment. He is a young, vibrant manager looking to make his way in the game.

"We are delighted to get him back at the club because he is going to have a big future in the game.

"It is a big pair of shoes to fill (replacing Coppell) but I am sure he is up to the task."

Sounds like he's still part of the plans to me!!

He loves this club he does.

Maybe it's probably time he started working on his coaching badges and got himself into the training setup at the club.

Go on Graeme, you know you want to.

I'm sure he's not going to go from "we" to "they" after being with the club for ten years. I'm sure Murts still lurves us!

Let Murty play out the rest of career how he wants. However, the moment he hangs up his boots he should either a) get his coaching badges and come back or b) replace Tim Dellor at BBCRB. I don't want his involvement with the club to be over.

Dellor to stay, but maybe Murty to alternate with Gooding.

Like when Parky left, you feel a bit gutted, but life does move on you know. He'll be kissing the badge at any new club he signs for, and quite right.

First thing I thought when I saw that was bless him, it really shows his love for the club. I was sad to see Coppell and Hahnemann go and felt it was right, but with Murty and Dillon I wished there was a way to have kept them at the club, but sadly it was probably the right decision. Even so it wouldn't be a shock to me if Rodgers decided to bring Dillon straight back as part of his coaching set up, but I think Murts should play a few years elsewhere before coming back (it would be a waste of him to just have him as coach).

Dylan Kerr my lord, Dylan Kerr!!! When the steward told him to sit down lol!!!
Murts defo has a couple of seasons left in him yet if he stays injury free. The guy is a Reading legend and I'd love to see him back in some shape or form.

Was there an away game when Archie sat amongst the away fans because he was injured? I'm sure he was on crutches. Or is my brain befuddled?
