Deathy Shame these scouts didn't fancy Chris Eagles are a bargain £1,000,000 when we were crying out for a right winger!

disagree about eagles. He is a good player but thinks he is alot better than he is and is inconsistent. If he was as good as he's cracked up to be he would have gone to a prem team when he was released from man utd.

I would rather get Lallani (sp?) or McGoldrick from Saints to be honest...

Deathy On his way to Cardiff for £1m (out of our reach) as Ledley's proposed replacement, according to reports tonight. Dependant on the money in from Ledley though I should imagine.

£1m is in our reach quite comfortably.

No I have but I enjoy banging my head against brick walls - it helps me ignore the pain inside.

I look at 2 seasons in the Premiership and being very careful with money. (I prefer tight as f**k, but we'll stick with careful)
I see last season, a lot of money made from player sales, and we're tight as f**K (sod it) with money again, and as expected.
I see this summer being even tighter, maybe a few more player sales, and we wont see much money from them.

A £1m signing isn't beyond us, no. But it would probably be around and about our whole transfer budget for the summer, and on one player? I don't see it. I see kids getting a chance and some clever signings. Like Ambrose being released by Charlton for example.

At least I stick by my opinions unlike a lot on here that change for the sake of fitting in with the clique's. Fook y'all.
And this could be the 4th summer running I'm yet to be proved wrong on the money subject...

Sheffield United have made an undisclosed bid for the Southampton midfielder Andrew Surman, BBC Radio Sheffield reports.

It is understood the Blades registered their interest earlier this week, but it is not yet known if the bid has been accepted by the Saints.

The ex-England under-21 international was Southampton's second top goal scorer with seven efforts last season.

Surman can play in a number of roles, including left midfield and left-back.

As Kebe is more comfortable on the left we are more in need of a specialist left back (hopefully Harding on a free) and a specialist right winger IMO.

Have you forgotten that we have Chris Armstrong?

Although seeing as you never say anything other than 'we won't spend any money' you certainly have been wrong !

No, we've spent money, Jesus Christ! But at this level, in the current climate, I do not see us having much to tinker with, and chitta chatta of £1.5m buys is ridiculous.

As for 'we wont spend' comment. We were tight in the Premiership. Last summer, frustratingly so. This summer...?

I see several years ago a £1m signing made off the back of failing to make the Championship play offs two seasons running. And that certainly wasn't the only signing that year.

I see bids of £4m+ on several occasions in the last few years. Two players bought for £2.5m and at least 3 other players bought for £1m or more. Plus plenty over £500k.

I see that the money is always there for the RIGHT players if the manager can make a decent case.

if we could sign Surman then it would be a fantastic replacement for the outgoing Shunt.

As Coppell didn't last season, I doubt Rodgers will this season. Maybe a small amount of money is in the kitty for him, but people talking about the likes of Surman are off their nut.
