Whore Jackie
papereyes EDIT: current standings of these 12 countries

Bottom of their group: Malta, Moldova, San Marino, Liechtenstein, Armenia, Andorra, Faroe Islands

Second Bottom: Azerbaijan, Kazachstan, Luxembourg, Montenegro, Estonia

ones in bold have no wins.

 Luxembourg won?

Looking it up and they're on a bit of a roll.

The team scored its first victory in almost twelve years in February 2007, beating Gambia 2-1 in a friendly match. In October of the same year Luxembourg recorded its first competitive win in 12 years, beating Belarus 1-0 in a EURO 2008 qualifying game, following it up on 10 September 2008 with a win away to Switzerland, their first World Cup Qualifying win since 1972.

I remember LUX going "radio rental" on here after their win in Switzerland

Well guys, good news is your favourite convict colony has qualified for SA2010.
We have our last qualifier this Wednesday against Japan who have already qualified also. It's being played in Melbourne and a crowd of around 80,000 is expected to give them a send off.
Go Aussies, almost makes up for missing promotion.... nah, still not even close, nothing can make up for that.

Is Harry Kewell still in the Aussie team? I saw he had a half decent season in Turkey.

Yes, he sure is, one of our main players actually. He never had an issue being a world clas player, just had a terrible run with injury.
He is pivotal to a successful world cup campaign for the Aussies.

A young bloke who has always impressed me who apparently is on the transfer list at Sheffield United & always does well for the national team is David Carney. Plays as a left mid, crosses the ball well & has good touch, I wouldn't at all be disappointed if we chased him.

He was good at the Olympics last summer.

Just ignore him and eventually he'll go away.

South Korea Vs Iran in a few hours time. Iran needs to avoid loss to get through.

A win for North Korea over KSA would see them qualify for the world cup for the first time in 44 years and would also see a squad of players claim asylum in South Africa once the tournament finishes.

Congratulations to North Korea! The dear leader will be pleased.

Here's to hoping they draw South Korea, USA & Japan.

Heh right.

Of course, we'll get oxf*rd in the draw again --Danes, Dutch and some monster West African bunch that'll ragdoll us all over the park for the 85 minutes that follow Onyewu's inevitabLOLe sending off-- as the Mexicans get a free ride to the knockout stage and an easy matchup in the round of 16 before "impressing" in defeat at the hands of a suspension- and injury-wracked global powerhouse.

Start setting watches and clocks now...

And to think, RFC nearly signed 'Gooch'.

As if one Sonko wouldn't have been enough.

Team USA do look like the cast of some 2nd rate war film. A bunch of rat-tag Marines lead by a wizend gunnery sergeant.

Surely they won't?

One pot of 'seeds' (ie 6 European teams, Brazil, Argentina)
One pot of not so good European teams
One pot of African and remaining S. American teams
One pot of of everyone else

That roughly adds up, don't it? So they'll be in a group with a decent team, a fairly decent European team and some dark horse from Africa/Paraguay.

Teams from the same confederation - except UEFA - cannot be put in the same group. However, we could get USA, England, North Korea in same group.

No doubt Italy will be one of the first group of seeds, so if England are in second group, that could be tasty. Italy v North Korea and another Pak Doo-Ik moment?

Another thing: England always win the World Cup when North Korea qualifies.
