Reckon you're 11 points short there Jay

Why does everyone think this is so tough?

Forest - meh
Newcastle - in disarray
Swansea - not going to be nearly as good as they were last season (a season in which they acheived exactly sod all contrary to what you might read on here)
Sheff Utd - apart from last year at home never a problem for us and will react badly to playoff defeat
Barnsley - see Forest

Since when were you Nostradamus.

You have no idea of the Reading line up never mind the opposition,so how can you come up with any type of figure

Forest home is a plausible 3 points.
Newcastle... unprectictable, no idea, away, long trip, first away game...
Swansea is a plausible 3 points.
Sheffield United should eat us alive. Have to see how they start the campaign.
Barsley is a plausible 3 points.

Now there's some optijism for you.

You're easily rattled. I'm looking at us with one eye on having no Doyle, Hunt, Bikey, and seeing some kids play (Henry, karacan, Pearce) and them needing a few weeks to find their feet and more importantly, their confidence.

It's an opinion, forums survive off of them. xxx

I'm willing to bet that if we only have 4 points after August it's because we've had a points deduction.

I'd rather have Newcastle at home than away early on. Not enough time for their fans to realise they aren't going to go straight back up romping the league and turn on the team. 8th - 15th game for the away would have been ideal IMO.

Never mind.

Happy with the fixtures list to be honest

Forest - Would rather be home first (and not against a newly promoted club).
Newcastle - think they'll still be a bit of a mess early doors (like Sunderland were a few years back - before Keane got the job)
Swansea - won't be as good as last season
Sheff Utd - dunno
Barnsley - won there with 10 men last year so no reason not to do so again (with or without a full compliment)

Can easily see 8 or 9 points from that lot.

Now that the division we are in has no other side in the south to play (has that ever happened before?) there will be no game that will take us less than an hour and a half to get to including all the home games.
The Carling Cup draw could have thrown up Southampton,Bournemouth or Aldershot away but gave us a Midlands side albeit at home.

Unless I'm mistaken, that old git still lives in Bournemouth.

Has Mr Loader purchased the relevant licence for publishing the fixture list? If not, I'd suggest the OP edits his post or a mod deletes it and any quotes referring to it.

Sorry to repeat myself.
One other thought-if people think Newcastle will be in a mess who's to say we won't be?
Our starting line-up could be quite different from last season with Marcus,Hunt,Doyle and Bikey possibly leaving and Duberry gone.
The thought of Fed,Henry,Church and Pearce in the starting line-up plus possibly Karacan means that we enter a new phase with a lot of question marks not just about them but also ongoing concerns about the capabilities of Rosenior,Cisse,Marek,Harper,Kebe and Long.
Obviously we want them all to succeed and although interesting I am not sure that we will be stronger and better equipped than Newcastle or even Forest where we scrambled a dreadful 0-0 at the start of last season.

As he has listed them himself I'm guessing the answer is yes

You are not mistaken (makes a change)Spacey and thanks for your normal unfriendly contribution even in the close season.
Sometimes I wonder if you suffer from a form of Tourettes as you never seem to be able to post in a civil and inoffensive manner and deafness is no excuse-my mum was deaf and she was one of the most genuine, kind and courteous people that you would wish to meet.

Do you think we'll still have problems at home going into the new season? We've got a new manager but we'll have a lot of the same players who will have our recent home form hanging over them.
