why the hell should we get kitson back. he's scored no goals in something like 18 games for stoke and only scored 1 for us on loan. Plus, from what skysports are saying stoke want to try and recoup most of what they spent on him. He had his chance to prove himself here on loan and get over his personal problems and it seems the latter is all he achieved. I hope he gets another chance at stoke but as for the money we will get from doyle and s.hite we could spend it on a younger and better player.

brendywendy so we gave doyle a new contract, after which he played only a litte, and scored only a little
and as a result we have robbed ourselves of whatever money we would have gained through the current bidding war over doyle, as all teh clubs will just bid 6.5 to trigger the release, and all the bidding war does is increase doylers signing on fee/wages?

that gamble didnt really pay off did it!

A bit like when we bought him from then. We met their release figure although they thought, and he has now proved, he was worth a lot more.

Perhaps the system Stoke plays doesn't suit him?

Plymouth_Royal and only scored 1 for us on loan.

He's actually scored 2. First against Doncaster and the second against Derby.

If the system doesn't suit the player then why sign him for 5.5million in the first place. My point was bringing back ex-players has not worked. Little and Kitson did not look great when they came back and you could see why they weren't getting games in the premier league for their respective clubs. It's a new era under Rodgers and signing old ex-royals is not the way forward. Especially for the amount that stoke are looking to recoup for him.

2 goals my mistake. But still not great.

Thanks for pointing that out, but its still a pretty poor record for a 5.5million prem striker.

If we had brought Church and Henry back from loan rather than bringing in Kitson and Little in on loan we'd have.....................

2 cheaper players on the payroll and we'd still be in the Championship? Hmmm, I'm surprised Mr Mad didn't consider it......

Kitson had a better strike rate during his time back here than Doyle managed in the second half of the season. 16 of Doyle's goals coming before Xmas. 2 After.

The point being, with good service he may have scored a lot more. I have my doubts as I think he's lost half a yard of pace which stops him getting into the box quick enough from his tendency to play deep.
