Looking at their website shows Istres won the division so presumably they are now a top division club... therefore these are technically French 1st Division players...

Looking quickly at the site, Istres won le National, which is the French 3rd division, made up of mostly amateur teams. Istres seem to have yo-yoed a bit - they were promoted to Ligue 1 in 2004, but were relegated after 1 season.
