Terminal Boardom Shades of Holland and total football. Plus the concept of playing your best 11 regardless of age. Sounds as if we not only have a plan A but a B, C D and E to boot. This excites me big time!

RoyaleeCMRoyal Just realised who he reminds me of - Graeme Souness.
Do you even know who Graeme Souness is?

What a bizarre question. You're getting almost embarrassingly sensitive about the guy.
To expand - Souness always exuded a calm confidence when he first became manager; he was the consummate media communicator. OK, that was totally at odds with his on-field demeanour but it actually produced results in the early days.

Do you recall Souness` "totally at odds" with Chief Steward Doyle after we turned Saints over in the Cup at Elm Park? Cue the South Bank;
" By Pass, It`s just another bypass, It`s just another bypass". Heartless.

Royalee That is the best interview I've ever seen a Reading manager give having just been on the Evening Post Website.

Thats something I'd definately agree with. Listening to him talk about his footballing philosophy, tactics, and thoughts on bringing through the youngsters was a real joy.
I have complete trust in him at the moment, which I did not have in the last regime.

If no wins in first 5 games how do you think you'll feel then?
(or rather in Hob Nob tradition - after 1 winless game?)

It'll take time for us to really excel under his brand of football. Anyone with half a brain understands that, and if we don't start well I'd like to think the majority of fans won't turn on him.

Get real, there are people on this board who seriously believe that the last regime was poor - even though it got us into the PL and gave us most of the best 10 seasons in the club's history. Memories are short.
(You, of course, wouldn't be one of them would you )

andrew1957 Well I have to say that everyone who meets BR seems very impressed and the players seem to love him already. See Fed's comments from RC below.
It also suggests that things in the camp were far from happy last season. PL here we come!
