Deathy

How much of the Watford first team did play?

All of them (expect McAnuff..and the rested Loach/DeMerit*) but have to say Smithy did perform as if he had other things on his mind.

*After their International action although the former only played 2 90 min matches in goal so hardly the toughest of work outs you would think.

Deathy Something along the lines of £1.2m upfront with a further £400,000 if we're promoted. I can see that happening. Not being involved today could be a promising indicator though.

But we'd never pay that much for a player at this level.

Thaumagurist* Didn't Pardew once talk about bringing Paul Di Canio (or somebody) to Reading and the people at Wet Sham weren't happy about it?

Spacey, let it go. Stop calling them Wet Sham. You're not 9 years old.

I'm sorry, it's a bit of a habit. And I still don't like that club.

Agreed, we've never paid that much before so why would we now? Madejski's a tight git and wants us to get relegated as running a League One club is cheaper.

I give you one Greg Halford at ~£3m.

£2.5m. I'd have also let you have Fae at £2.5m.

I was being sarcastic as, I presume, Stranded was. I thought it would be obvious enough for most people without including a silly yellow face. My mistake.

The posts you quote are little digs at Jay's continual flip-flopping on how much money we will pay for a player not a belief that we won't spend that.

Unless you know how Jay posts, you probably wouldn't have got it.

Surely suggesting SJM wants us to be relegated to League One should have given the game away?

I mean I know some people on here are total arses, but surely not even they would post that seriously!

Here we go

Ive just been speaking to my mate at the Watford Observer and the news is that Tommy Smith will not be a Watford player by the middle of next week.
He says its 95% sure it will be Reading with an increased bid of approx £1.2 plus add ons.
This is the same guy who told me about Rodgers and was only out by 1 day on his announcment.
