He'd already signed a contract with PSV prior to Italia 90. He'd have left his England role whatever happened.

Alan Partridge Legend, Hero, English football icon in all honesty. Respected worlwide by some of the biggest clubs in world football, a gentelmen who loved the game more than anyone. Will be truly sadly missed.
After the send off that alcoholic wife beater George Best got from this country I hope there is something really significant for Sir Bob. A statue at Wembley would be nice or something along those lines.
