Franchise FC
Handsome Man Fed - 7
Rosenior - 5
Bertrand - 7
Pearce - 7
Cisse - 7
HRK - 7
Kebe - 7
Davies - 8
Tabb - 6
Gunnarsson - 5
Long - 7

Rodgers - 5

Rosenior was a bit hoofy still and Gunnarson is probably shot for the season now, but the young players look quite good.
None of the subs looked any good really, especially Hunt.
The formation looked a bit championship manager.

Good job I caught up with my sleep during the game - I had a great dream though.
I dreamt that we played OK, were under the cosh a lot but managed to get a two goal lead.
Played OK in the second half and were a bit unlucky to lose the lead so late.

Now the bit where my dream was considerably different. I was joking with my two sons that Rosey should be nicknamed Catherine Tate because I wanted him to look upfield, and all he did was turn left.

Feel much better for the kip, but those seats at the MadHouse are not that comfortable. Maybe they can install some of those Virgin Atlantic sleeper seats.

I'm too old to get the Catherine Tate thing, but am I bothered?

I thought that too often we passed patiently across the back four until it got to Rosenior and then he would panic and send a stupid back pass to Federici or knock it forward into touch. Overall though I was really happy with the approach and the performance: on yesterday's evidence, replacing Duberry and Armstrong looked a very positive move.

Ian Royal
SteveRoyal Another view from Chelsea:
Federici is very good

Looks like his performance today is a controversial one.

What he did was largely very good (if not exclusively). It's what he didn't do that was worrying.

It's easy to be impressed by diving saves, but it takes a bit of brain to look beyond that, which is something I doubt a lot of Chelsea fans can manage. A lot of Reading ones can't and most Chelsea fans I've met have been knuckle dragging morons.

How many games do you manage to get to, and how many RFC fans do you get to actually chat to?

It's a Dr Who refernce,.
And what you said is exactly what I mean. He kept turning left and playing people into trouble - particularly Fed

Are you trying to be the frimmers of the team board?

They're quite hard to find in cambridge. Although I've met plenty on here in the flesh plus all the ones I talked to when I lived in Reading as well.

I don't see what this has to do with anything, or why you seem to think I should justify myself to you. I'm happy to oblige, as I've got nothing to hide.

Federici - 7 - Looked better than last season but still a little dodgy in some areas.

Rosenior - 7 - Was looking good but did make a few mistakes.
Pearce - 8 - Thought he was very good, looks like a leader.
Cisse - 8 - Fits in well in defence or midfield, was surprised how good he looked.
Bertrand - 7 - Potential. Would rather have Stretch playing on saturday though.

Robson-Kanu - 7 - Didn't get into the game as much as i'd hoped but when he did he looked impressive and willing to run.
Davies - 8 - Bit quiet at the beginning but got into it as the game went on. Well taken goal.
Bryn - 7 - Did his job well.
Tabb - 7 - Lively but didn't get involved that much.
Kebe - 8 - Still one or two mistakes/bad crosses. Was looking good though, well taken goal, improved.

Long - 6 - A lot of bad touches. I don't think hes good enough to be the lone striker.

Bikey - 6
Harper - 5
Hunt - 5
Henry - 5
Church - 5
Mooney - 5

when it was the two full strangth sides first half i thought we looked comfy- limited them to long shots, solid in the middle, and dangerous from the wings.brilliant display vs a world class club side.
definitely played it on the deck more, and more willing to go backwards patiently. nice stuff
2nd half was purely a fitness/training excersise.

fed-7 yin and yang-great with teh shots, but just not as solid as marcus
rosy-6 ok-solid enough
plastic-7 looked solid at the back, and good going forward
pearce-8 a captains performance, solid as a rock, and good with the ball on the deck
cisse-8 imposing at cb and DCM
tabb-8 a terrier, massive work rate, tackles hard, lays the ball off sensibly
brynn 7-totally solid in every area but pace
davies 7- struggled with their quality, managed to show his with teh free kick-able back up for marek
HRK-7 very good 1st half-loves to take people on, and succeeded vs cole wonderfully
kebe-8 always wants to run at people, caused masses of problems for the FB
, and a superb quick footed finish to round cech.still 50-50 good and bad, but the good got better over the summer
long-6 hard working and strong, created some nice stuff, but too much of the average about him again

subs-5

moo The reason Feds is getting reactions of 'he played amazing' and then 'he was carp' is because he made the simple saves look over the top, hence he struggled.

Is that a new spin on fishing for compliments?

From Despair To Where? the Man Utd game. Yes, he kept us in the game at Old Trafford but was single handedly responsible for us being out of the replay inside 6 minutes.

Nonsense, just nonsense.

You choosing to ignore the long-range shot from Heinze he let squirm under his body and then being beaten by Saha due to poor positioning?

Popular misconception. Heinze's shot took a very slight deflection off Shorey a couple of yards in front of him which took it under his body. He had it covered until that.

He let a long-range shot squirm under his body, that's not a misconception. He also had terrible positioning for Saha's goal. That's not a misconception either.
