Bert Eggo was our captain in the 1920s so some time around then.

I believe that he captained the club to our first ever football league divisional title in 1925/26 (Division III South) and also the FA Cup run to the semi-final the following season.

That's not Elm Park, Picture says 1894-95, we didn't move into EP untill 1896. Probably Caversham.

Looking at the 1894/95 photo, all the players are wearing the same strip. I assume that one of them must have been a goalkeeper, so was it not necessary for keepers to wear a different colour shirt to the rest of the team? When did that law come in?

A quick google search suggests that Keepers first used a different shirt to the rest of the team in the 1909 season for the Scottish League.
Before that they used a cap.

I'm surprised that Tredder hasn't intervened here. These old photos shoot out of the water any ideas that we were the origional hoops and QPR the fake hoops. They started wearing green hoops in 1904 and blue hoops from 1927.

Evidence: http://www.historicalkits.co.uk/Queens_ ... angers.htm

So let's have no more talk about us being the original hoops please.

No, they don't. We wore the hoops in 1871. Then we switched to those.

Absolutely not, because you are wrong.

Use your own 'Evidence' (not sure how reliable that site is) we were hoops from 1872-1891.

Before Elm park I believe that we played at the kensington road sports ground. It was owned by Huntley and Palmers after that. I am in exile by the sea now so I don't know who owns it now.

All those players on the cigarette cards are dead now. let that be a lesson. SMOKING KILLS

I think that Kings Meadow was our original home, but we later moved to Caversham Cricket club in 1889, staying for some 7 years. As Caversham was in Oxfordshire at the time, we have played our home games in 2 counties.
