Stephen Hunt may well be the biggest winner here, we know there used to be a £5m buy out agreement, no one wanted to trigger that, so offer £2m and a £1m signing on fee and I bet he signs on the line, even for lower wages than he gets here, but with a nice lump sum up front and a 3 year deal, release clause for relegation as well i would guess.

You have to laugh at HuLOLOL thinking this is a big signing.
You also have to laugh at how we're celebrating him finally going.

If it's more than £1.5m then they have been well and truely raped. You just know it'll be something ridiculas like £3m though.

hurray!! He put in some solid performances in the past but to be quite honest take out his 'huff and puff' and harrying (and that even dissapeared as the season petered out) and you have a player whose abilities that are vastly inflated in the eyes of the watching media due to his perceived battling qualities.

I prefer a winger who can take players on,beat them for skill and speed and deliver a telling cross-something S Hunt has not done consistently.Only the delivery from dead ball situations were anything to behold and again that dried up quickly- i cant see him be more than an 'impact' player at Hull given time. In fact if it Wasnt for Conveys injury problems he may not have been given the platform he now appears to have.

If we get anything over 3million for him its another steal given that he is approaching his late twenties now, he was bought in on a free and we have some new talent coming through who are proper wingers (Robson Kanu/Henry for starters). I supspect we may now be in for Tommy Smith again, with perhaps a bid of just over a million to tempt Watford and another mystery signing may well conclude BR's business until Xmas.

skipper On this note, why was he left out Saturday? I assume he didn't fit BR team? He can't be injured or he won't pass the medical.

do you reckong Stuart Downing passed his medical when he signed for villa last month?

Anyway be interesting what Hunt says/does next season if/when Hull get relegated. Afterall he had to leave us cos he needs premiership football.

Hull's biggest signing of the summer! I can't wait to see their reaction the first time he picks up the ball, puts his head down, and runs straight into the nearest defender. Then the second, then third and however long it takes for them to realised they've been entirely ripped off!

If they can get him playing like he did in our first Prem season, who'll be laughing at a fee of £2M?

I can't believe how happy they are about this. Have they seen him play the last two seasons?

SteveRoyal Once the deal is finalised, I'm hitting the clubs.
We need to celebrate, surely?

Deathy Hunt gone by morning, Smith in by Saturday.

Done.

Do clubs pen at 9am?

Smith in time for Saturday works for me. I feel as if I have been reborn!

He won't play like that again. He can't even play like that for Ireland where he's in a similar position, desperately trying to establish his place ahead of a more talented rival.

Form is temporary, class is permanent. Sums up SHunt entirely. He went through stints where everything he tried seemed to come off, but when the chips were down his charging about like a headless chicken was highlighted for all to see.

We will, because it wont last. He'll go there, fire in his belly, prove something, then relax and be the ego he became here.

Royal Lady I wonder if we had to wait to get Hunt off our hands before we could up our bid for Smith? :|

I do hope SHunt going won't affect NHunt adversely though.

He played happily up in Dundee without big brother and he should play just as happily at Reading, I feel. He still has great potential.

Sad that he has lost the board here butr he has done it to himself seemed to forget that we saved him from Bradford and gave him real chance, hopefully the money will be released to get Smith or another proven goal scorer
