FiNeRaIn Where is the money going? Its sure as hell not going into the bank for the next regime to come in and spend on players is it? With 3 years of parachute payments, that much outgoing on players in two years, tv money and two seasons in the prem-- now the fact our wage bill must be minimal as we have a squad full of kids and people are suggesting we have made losses and are on a tight budget, LOL please. Honestly, please.

Do you understand finance and accounting at all?

Like I said before do you remember those huge retained losses on our balance sheet? That will only get reduced if we make profits (which we have done recently so they have come down). The money has come into the club but it hasn't gone anywhere, it just goes towards making a profit at the end of the season hopefully.

There is an option in your profile to turn off (or on) PM's. He obviosuly doesn't want the abuse that he would rightfully get.

This is boring now but it is my (and I think everyone else's understanding who has seen the accounts before and up to June 2008) that Madejski has never taken a penny out of the football club either by way of Loan repayments, salary, interest on loans or anything else.

In the wake of the player sales in the last year the "cut the cloth" line might be a little tiresome to some but you can be pretty confident that just those 3 words uttered in public time and again over the last few years will have saved a few hundred grand (minimum) on transfer fees paid out when compared to clubs whose Chairmen have said "all of the money received on the sale of Joe Bloggs will be made available to the manager for strengthening the team".

Fine Rain, would you not agree with that?

SSN have just showed some footage of SHunt in a Hull shirt, with the story to follow shortly.

Its odd seeing one of "your" players in the shirt of another team; like seeing your ex holding hands in the street with her new bloke.

Just LOL at the whole press conference - the fact that they appear to have held it at the village hall, Hunt pretty much admitting the only reason he went to Hull is for a year back in the Premiership and had nothing decent to say about the place, the way he recoiled every time Phil 'Tom Jones' Brown tried to pat him on the back and lastly how they couldn't afford a proper translator so they got their chairman to do it as long as the questions were easy.

FiNeRaIn Asset stripping continues- when bikey goes, that will be 11 mill outgoing sales or so this summer- 2 million spent. Madejski having the time of his life for a second season in a row. He should write coppell a thank you card.

Let me get this straight - Madejski wants to sell the club for as high a price as he can soon ish, so he decides to strip it of all its best assets to make it worth as little as possible? You sir, are a genius.

No, actually royalee you are the biggest moron on here. Let me put it in simple terms. We've sold our best players. Doyle, kitson, shorey, sonko, hunt, are trying to offload harper and bikey and we've spent a whopping 3 million in two seasons. Where is the money going? Its sure as hell not going into the bank for the next regime to come in and spend on players is it? With 3 years of parachute payments, that much outgoing on players in two years, tv money and two seasons in the prem-- now the fact our wage bill must be minimal as we have a squad full of kids and people are suggesting we have made losses and are on a tight budget, LOL please. Seems that we (again) are on a mission to acheive the maximum with the minimum outlay whilst getting rid of the saleable assets asap. Whilst I don't agree the the spend, spend, spend mentality of the likes of Hull, Bolton, Wigan etc., I don't understand how the likes of Hunt/Harper/Bikey et al are now deemed surplus to requirements when Premier League Clubs are willing to pay decents sums for them.

Rodgers is benefitting from having the best crop of youngsters (carefully tended by the previous regime) and is basing our hopes on these players, but where's the back up?

Are we going to buy promising players from lower league teams? Or rely on older, established, no re-sale vale players?

What is the quality of the younger Academy players? (Based on the FA Youth Cup tie against Preston I'd suggest it's not has strong as it has been)

Will we rely on long term loan players? (Short term gain and all that)

What's the Patience period demanded by several posters here? - One, two, three years? (Royalee won't be happy because he's predicting promotion this year)

Me, I don't have a clue on any of the above - can hope, but can't help but have the feeling of the "Emperor's New Clothes" about the new regime.

Obviously not as he's confusing cashflow/cash surplus with an accounting profit/loss

Profit/loss is all about matching costs and income to the period in which they relate.

If you pay a years insurance now your cashflow shows the entire amount going out but the accounting treatment is to recognise 1/12th of the cost each month until the end of the cover period. The same with a stadium built to last 25 years, You spread the £25m it cost to build over the 25 years even though you have to pay the cash up front.

Similarly, If someone supplies you with a service you may not be expected to pay them until 90 days after the invoice arrives, However in accounting you recognise the costs in the period in which they were incurred.

Accountants play clever tricks to ensure companies don't report too high accounting profits as that means paying more tax. Similarly if your looking to sell a business you can do things to make it look better than it is.

...Oh yeah FineRain, missed out Academy, which accounted for 5 of our starting 11 last weekend - you could see that as 5 signings.

Nevermind though, don't let common sense and knowledge of finance get in the way of your great conspiracy theory.

We're not asset stripping - we're selling players at the best price possible to better, richer clubs. Remember that? It happened all the time pre-2006. It's the circle of footballing life and we'll be doing again once the new crop have peaked.

If you think your magical list comes anywhere close to adding up to the 20 million we have received on transfer fees, parachute payments, prem tv money, uprising in season tickets ( amongst the highest in the championship) while maintaining a squad for of youth academy prospects not evening pushing 5k a week each, you are delusional.
