Result i expected. People who say Newcastle will do nothing this season are idiots, they'll easily make the play offs.
Reading are, currently, not a good enough team to compete with any of the three relegated sides.
Most disappointing is our total lack of any threat going forward. There was hardly anything to show for it last week and this week has been even worse.
Today Kebe and Church might as well have not been on the pitch and I just don't rate Long to any degree whatsoever, except as a substitute.
We need a damn good striker from somewhere, someone who can score goals and someone who has a bit more directness about them. Tommy Smith that ain't (although signing him I think would be an improvement).
Overall we were not good enough and August could be a long month. Mid table mediocrity would seem to be about right (mind you if we don't start sorting it out going forward we could be back in division 3 next year).
So we still haven't won on a Saturday since 21st December 2008 - and also our dire record of always losing at Newcastle, and conceding at least 3 goals in the process, remains safe
