Royal Lady Why aren't we playing Mills? Did I hear something about him not being match fit?

Cant do alot about a player we only just signed not being match fit FFS

He will play when he is ready as Rodgers wont have paid that money for a player he doesnt see playing week in week out

prostak Seriously, I think the only real problem is up front. A-Fed's reasonable enough for this level, the mistakes made by the defence will not be punished so harshly by other teams (whatever crises NUFC suffer, they still possess plenty of players with a great deal of top-level experience) and will be learned from anyway, and I'm impressed by how much fight we showed to the end of the match. I really don't think this is a sign we'll be relegated, or even thereabouts.

Correct. There is no support to our strikers from the midfield. Plus our strikers at the moment, don't look good enough.

Cisse was atrocious today. Mills in next game please Rodgers.

Also Nhunt and Harps have to start. As WW says men against boys today.

Was that before or after Newcastle put on their slippers and lit up the cigars?

Gulf in ability notwithstanding, obviously.

The spine of the team is really weak. We need a decent centre back, decent central midfielder and striker.

Did he not train prior to signing for us then? Has he not been training with the team since he joined?

The Real Sandhurst Royal The formation of 4-3-3 does not work for us we need to go back to 4-4-2 and play with wide wingers and strentghen up the midfield at the same time with a player who can break up the play.

Kebe and Church are not in the game in a 4-3-3 set up, there is no service for a loan striker to play on.

The Newcastle deafeat has proved that Rodgers does not have a second game plan when needed and it will be 1 point from a possible 9 after the defaet at Swansea on Tuesday.

Its not the formation, its the lack of quality attacking players

We had the same problem last season and havent done anything about it yet so you cant really be surprised can you

Kebe, Church, Long and Kanu arent up to it. Rodgers seems to know it and is trying to address the weakness

Whether he can or not remains to be seen

Thats what having TWO defensive midfielders gives you.

Having two attacking one may help (Davies & Marek)

Training doesnt get you match fit

Donny knew he was off and I thnk he had an injury too so he hadnt played in their friendlies much from what I remember reading. You dont now buy a player as a long term investment just because he isnt fit for your next 2 or 3 games

I don't think Mills would have made much difference today. I'm not sure he did much on Tuesday.

I thought we were made to look weedy.

Marek surely off, no? Can't imagine why else the classiest midfielder ever to play for Reading not even in the squad.

The last time I really felt like this was after Wrexham in August 1998. That was 3-0 too.

Sarah Star I can't say we looked a threat, but the ref hasn't helped either.

Don't even dare blame the ref, just don't dare.

I blame the ref
We would have coped better against nine men

Yes the ref should have seen that and evened it up so that there was more of game to watch for the telly audience.

The second would have been a harsh yellow IMO.

Isn't he injured...or coming back from one?
