Jerry St Clair Can't ever remember going to a Reading game attended by 36k and the ground feeling empty. Really bizarre atmosphere. I think a few teams will go to St James's and pick up points this season. It's about as intimidating as my gran's sheltered housing, whatever the press have you believe.
As for Reading, this team is the very definition of inexperienced. We clearly have a lot of players with natural ability, but they were out-thought by Newcastle and just lack that streetwise attitude. Oh, and a decent forward.
And, finally, new season same old wakners following Reading away. People Sitting in the back row and demanding that people in front of them sit down. I really don't think other clubs have such ignorant tossers like this following them.

I'm fairly sure that most clubs have ignorant tossers who insist on standing in front of other people to ensure that their enjoyment of the game is ruined.

Old Biscuitman When did Newcastle last win a league game by 3-0 or better?

I'm afraid you're right; it is pure thoughtlessness rather than a deliberate attempt to spoil it for others however. People don't think of others who not only may not wish to stand, but may have great difficulty in standing. We all stand up when a goal is scored but in the all seater stadiums there's no excuse for standing at other times.

Gordons Cumming You're not a true away supporter if you don't want to stand all game.
So I'm told....................hence I don't travel away.
Easy.

floyd__streete Well, who would have thought it - the team who sold £6.5 million worth of their best forward in the summer and spent precisely £0 on replacing him manage 1 shot on target and no goals in their first two games?

I'm sure you know the answer to this, but for those who don't, it was also against us the last time we played Newcastle at St. James's Park.

Their last league game when they won 3-0 was against Portsmouth at Fratton Park last season......
