As far as I could tell the only person who even acknowledged our presence was Brendan.

Thought we looked very inexperienced and was a bit surprised that Harper/Hunt/Gunnarsson were left on the bench for this one. Also toothless up front - one good cross just after the opener and Hunt's shot near the end about all we mustered. Don't think anyone played really badly but Kebe was outshone as a winger by Barton of all people and Davies and Church largely peripheral. Karacan MOM for me but probably only 6/10.

Shocking defending for the second goal - everyone assumed the ball would roll out from the header across goal - I think Pearce turned to have a chat with Cisse rather than making sure the ball was safe.

Spent the match surrounded by geordies who spent most of the time abusing Ashley rather than watching the game - despite obvious unrest at the club their team seemed more up for it than we were. Sol Campbell sat on the row in front so assume move to the toon could be on the cards.

The facts are already there, 2 league games and no goals. A front 3 of Kebe, Long and Church/HRK is simply not good enough and I fear we're really going to struggle to stay in this division. However, add in NHunt and hopefully 2 new signings and it's not all doom and gloom yet.

exactly what i thought i only saw pearce and i tghink it was rosenior who started clapping us but that was from the half way line

Indeed look at the table the team in 11th are a point ahead - far too early to get overly worried. However, if we fail to win or indeed score in the next two games then I may not be as calm.

Am I right in thinking that against Forest almost all of our goal kiscks were played short to a full back, but at Newcastle it was the complete opposite? Was this deliberate tactic to get the ball forward quicker, because if it was it failed miserably. Or am I off the mark here?

The odd long ball from the back is no bad thing, but when you've only got Shane Long to aim at, it's not likely to bring you much success. I'm sure Rodgers is thinking abot a plan B as I type, but the evidence of the two league games (didn't see the CC match) it makes me think that it will be Christmas before we've got ourselves sorted. In with an outside chance of making the playoffs, but I feel certain now we'll be mid-table come the end of the season. I'm just going to try to enjoy watching our youngsters develop into a cohesive side, supplemented by our more experienced players and hopefully, one or two new lads.

Well I just got back, that is a long way and i didnt exactly head straight home.

Well what a great place, in fact the only thing that ruined the weekend was the football.

Surely thats going to be the hardest away game of the season and we just werent ready for an away game like that, they did not let us play our new style of football and nor should they as the home side.

No one stood out for us really which speaks volumes the captain should of got hold of a few of them and giving them a verbal blasting, as for the second goal that was a joke.

But I didnt expect to win so it wasnt a big surprise except the fact we let in 3.

Looking forward to seeing Mills in defence soon and Marek in midfield so we actually have some creativity

Has anyone got any info on Marek? My guess would be that he's not yet fully fit or that his injury flared up a bit after Tuesday - but I guess the more pessimistic views are that BR doesn't rate him or he's being sold. Any of you with the inside view know anything on this?
