RUMOUR: Gaël Kakuta

by TBM » 18 Aug 2009 11:59

Apparently we have an agreement in place to take Chelsea reserve player Gaël Kakuta onloan for the rest of season once he is fit. He is currently recovering from a broken ankle (done in Feb) but should by fit by Christmas. We will then take him onloan in the new year with a view to a further loan spell next season.

He can play wide left or upfront and is a left footer. Is superb at taking players on and can bang in the goals (scored 12 in 20 for the youths)

Interesting

Sauce?

Excellent little player.

Friend of mine is a big Chelsea fan and apparently he's the best youngster they have.

If this is true it would be an amazing signing. My Chelsea mates rate him as one of the best.

Have they actually ever seen him play though?

A couple of them. The only ones I class as true fans, who actually live in Chelsea and not Bracknell.

Fair enough then, it's quite difficult to judge players on youth team and glorified youth team games (or Reserves as Chelsea like to call them) but it's better than just going by what they read on the internet!

So he has to recover and then get reasonably match fit before he can come to Reading... Presumably we could take him earlier as it'd be a loan arrangement if his recovery is speedier than that.

Guess we just have to watch this space for now

In simple terms, Henry turns down Chelsea, they turn to Kakuta.

He's okay, but would be fourth choice here. Being the best young attacking player at Chelsea (discarding Sturridge and Kalou ofc) isn't much of an achievement- the last player to have that title was Michael Woods

this story doesn't ring true - the source says he will sign when he is fit, but was apparently playing for their reserves this week in that game that was reported in NOW that was abandoned because of a mass brawl
