Hope it's not the same sources who saw Shorey at West Ham having a medical.

EDIT: Obviously was.

Sky Sources are LOLzworthy but it would be some turnaround from the media release from the Watford chairman. The space of the day saying we aren't interested anymore to completing the deal.

Huntley & Palmer LOL @ most people on this thread when he signs in the next 48 hours

Not really. Old John knows the supports are turning volatile towards him, not the team, and not the manager. He really has very little choice but to show the fans their 'wrong' and get them back onside.

LOL @ a few people on an internet message board turning 'volatile'. People are far too impatient after the most successful period in this club's history, it's farcical really

I think 1000 fans turning against him on Saturday was more to the point, and that would only become worse had he not made this happen. Smith has clearly been our main transfer objective of the summer, and anyone else just wouldn't do in the end. Quite frankly, no one gives a toss what you or I have to say on a message board, my ginger love machine.

In the light of TBM's post above can I be the first to ask: 'Has he signed then or what?'

Yeah right - the decision was made on the basis of "fan power"? Just goes to show - don't believe what you read in the papers.

FWIW, I never doubted for a second that, once we'd offloaded Shunt, we'd be in with a £1.8 bid (matching the earlier blades bid) and it would then all be wrapped up. Lot of money for a 29 year old, but a quality signing, and exactly what we need.... he may even turn out in retrospect to be cheap at half the price.

Excellent news.

To be fair, I could have written that - there's no new insight - nothing about a fee - I think they're repeating what was on the SSN ticker tape doodah.

I'd believe Poleman in preference to SSN at the moment as well.

If the bloke doesn't get a trick in his opening game he'll be lambasted on here quicker that Shakes runs to the toilet when it's his round.

If he joins, he'll probably break his leg first match.

That'd be funny wouldn't it?
