Well we all know the smoke signal to look for. When the official site starts advertising their text service "for first news of transfers", we'll know it's a done deal.

John Madejski is reported, sorry make that SIR John Madejski is reported to have said that this illustrates my determination to take this football club back into the Premier League. He is also reported to have said that Tommy Smith is currently injured but when he is available it will be just like having a new player on board.

we now need an out and out striker (m.bent) and a left midfielder perhaps danny rose on loan.

the defence seems dodgy to me with 6 goals leaked in 4 games but i cant see him reinforcing. think ivar needs to come in

Out of all the experienced players we have waiting in the wings (Harper, Marek etc) you choose a player who can't last 50 mins? :|

We DO have experienced players available. Why aren't they playing?

Based on current form and performances, we need an ugly CF, a left and right winger and a ball winning CM along similar lines to Terry Hurlock.

howser Common sense prevails after all, now all we need is the creative midfielder and winger who can beat a defender and cross a ball !

A striker would be nice too.

N Hunt or Church may thrize with Smith dropping deep behind them. We have Marek so a creative midfielder isn't at the top of my list, but a winger (McAnuff possibly) would be nice.

Good effort but I fear you may have wasted your time if TS is not allowed to play against his former club in this fixture.
