I doubt it's the lure of the Premiership that was the attraction of Pompey for Tommy Smith. It's more likely that, with them, he was at least guaranteed to be playing in the Championship next year.

Right, it looks as if we've lost that Barnsley ganme so Brendan should take the next 10 minutes out and get on the blower to Tommy Smith and beg him to join us. If he refuses then good old Brendan can use those brilliant man management skills and irish powers of persuasion;

"Hey Tommy, you're making me look a twat, would ya not come and join us over at Reading?"
"Um, no i'm a bit miffed at all the crap that's happened over the last month, to be honest Brendan, and Pompey are in th Prem!"
"Ah say you will?"
"No"
"Ah go on, go on, go on, go on, go on, go on, go on, go on, go on, go on, go on, go on, go on, go on, go on, go on,go on, go on, go on, go on, go on, go on, go on, go on!"

At least we can all stop talking about Tommy smith now.

If he really did just not show for the press conference then there is surely no way back for
him. What does he say? Sorry I made a mistake, Pompey is a shit hole.

It's too late now and it's our own fault. Let's move on and get a better player for that money.

What makes you think that the money would be made available?

Confirmed on radio during the game. SSN too busy dealing with match results to report it just yet.

I would guess the game against Hereford is taking precedence. Someone listening to the Pompey game stream said he was paraded infront of the fans at half time. Someone else said he was at that game.

Reading Player commentary team 100% positive he has signed for Pompey.

Hi
This is Reading FC. Of course we have a plan B. After all it follows Plan A.

In January we will make signings just like we have in the past three years.

The future is looking bright. Hang on SDR is wearing RTGs.

Let's get the Facts Right we are shit and the Madman needs to gooooooooooo

He is taking us down. Transition from Premiership - Championship - Division One.

Has the Madmans wig slipped over his eyes. Real Facts.

lol @ the 84 pages for tommy smith, oh now 85 wit me

He would have been, or could still be a decent reading player, but I think we will cope much the same with or without him.

He would have made an impact, as his stats would suggest, but one man aint no team
