(.)Boobies(.)
Royal Lady Complete opposite of Coppell in every way really.

I so wished that the club would give Coppell some sort of role still within the club. He could have mentored Rodgers a bit - or something.

That is the role of Frank Lampard Snr.

Oh yes, our Football Consultant. What a cushy number that is; paid (presumably) handsomely for working on the training pitch during the week without having to sit through the crushing inevitability of failures on a match day.

Football never ceases to amaze me with it's emperor's new clothes attitude towards the jobs for the boys network. It is generally accepted that FLS is a top notch coach and indeed he worked at West Ham for a good spell between 1994-2001.....working for his brother-in-law :| . Since leaving West Ham 8 years ago he has not occupied any top coaching positions, perhaps he has turned plenty down but I remain somewhat suspicious of this 'Football Consultant' role in a day and age where we seem to constantly have to cut corners and pinch pennies with regard to our squad.

To be fair, FLS has clearly had a positive impact on the passing and new style of football, and it is an improvement. He shouldn't be knocked, a bit harsh I feel. It's now about the final third and getting the goals, and it'll come. (he says)

How is backwards and sideways passing "an improvement"?

It's about getting comfortable with the system. Watford were like this when he first took over there....

That's the short-sighted sort of post I've come to expect from you. I'd much rather have a season where we improve throughout and turn things around rather than one of obvious decline like last year where we were getting further and further away from promotion as the season went on.

Ian Royal In that case, we'd need to very seriously look at who else is available and consider getting shot of him fairly sharpish.

Tisdale

Look at his record (back to back promotions) and his ability to blood Exeter's youth prospects SLOWLY over the past 3 years, turning them into accomplished players. He also had a chairman with a real aim to clear club debts and had to sell players before he could buy, (much like Madejski) and he was still was a massive success in league and cup competitions.

I was not on the interview panel but on paper Tisdale >>> Rodgers is a so painfully obvious it's :| .

The horrifying truth of this whole situation is going to hit home come Saturday night when barnsley have totally outplayed and beaten our kids/reserve team

Dirk Gently But is it reasonable to expect all the pieces to fall into place in just 6 games?

Of course it's not.

That is why it is so amazing to see the reaction of the retard squad on here.

I would go with that. We stuffed Watford last season but for much of the game they knocked the ball around nicely but with no cutting edge. 4-0 wasn't it? How long had he been in post???

TSTRS, my beef is with the club and the board. Not with BR or the players.

hmm not strictly true is it? He started that way and the team kept losing and were booed off several times, He went more direct with 442 and started winning. His problem is obsession with 433 which is fine (ish) if you are chelsea circa 2004 and have the pick of the players in your league. doesnt work if you are trying to compete in the championship with a young team

I know we have had a poor start to the season but I was expecting a similar start tbh. However I much prefer watching the new style compared to the old hoofball.

mmmmm - unfortunately can't make it to the STAR AGM tonight - but imagine it will be interesting providing someone's got the balls to actually ask the questions everyone's wanting answered (whole sale exit of our experienced players, lack of transfers and ambition etc). Or will everyone pussy foot around the real issues!!!
