Good to see some players in the door at last, but given the income we've taken in we surely need to bring some undoubted quality. These may prove great signings - on the other hand to have the guy on Talk Sport laughing at the fact we'd signed Rasiak and suggesting he's crap I'm yet to be instilled with confidence. As someone else said we really seem to be operating within a tight pot - I'm sure these signings were only possible because Tommy Smith fell through, and any more will only be possible if Harper or others are sold.

FiNeRaIn If/when harper goes it'll be a sad day for RFC. I don't care what anyone says, the guy is a legend in my eyes and you won't find many of his calibre in modern day football. His form last season was poor, he didn't play well at all but the stick people give him on here is frankly laughable. I do think a change for both partys might revitalise his career though.

Totally agree with this. With him, Murty and Hahnemann gone we've lost a lot of characters. Not to mention Steve Coppell.

Hardly the most trustworthy.

His goalscoring record + the fact that Watford fans wanted him back + the fact that many millions of pounds have been spent on him in the past + the fact that BR wants him after Rasiak played under him last season = good signing in my eyes.

winchester_royal LOL

People wanted signings. We get signings. People moan and say it's desperate.

Once again, ROFLeading fans.

Despite what you say, there is some logic behind that criticism.

The club buggers around in the transfer market pre-season, trying and failing to get its main target on the cheap. The season starts and the team performs poorly, suddenly the club wake up and rush out to make large numbers of signings at the last moment. Little surprise then that some criticise the club for panic signings.

Agree to an extent RoyalBlue.

Though I would argue that once again making a judgement on any transfer is stupidly hard as there are many factors to consider before calling it a panic buy.

For example, McAnuff. Watford may not have sold him until they had players in to replace him, Reading might have had to wait for players to go etc etc.

As far as an opinion goes, fair enough but in my personal opinion I'd hardly call 2 players who have played and done well under BR, signed for under a million with a good 4 days until the window shuts, 'panic buys'

If Rasiak is a panic signing then I'm off to find a Southampton fan to get next weeks lottery numbers, they seem to have known he was coming here for weeks. Pardew even announced that Rasiak was on his way 2 weeks ago, though he wouldn't say where.

Madstad to Nadderud I agree that the players are better than Fleck et al but I feel that RFC have taken a backwards step.

No shit.

We're not the only ones though!

Apparently they were interested in Rasiak too. Not sure if that's a good or a bad thing :|

...on balance I'd prefer Mifsud to Misfud (never even heard of him TBH), I think....

Just because a player has commanded large fees does not necessarily mean that he will be any good. Francis Jeffers anyone???

Agree with the Talk Sport comment though. Why does anyone bother to listen to it?

People have got too used to Coppell's transfer policies.

Teams spend like this all the time, it's how you stop things from getting stale.

These won't be panic buys, we've got a massive recruitment unit, we'll know these targets inside out.

It's not like when Burns came in, he's not going to just pluck players randomly. Also we don't talk about it anymore, but we all know what was going on with Burns and the players he was signing....

I'm happy the this is not a Burn's like policy. I mean look at them, neither are four stone overweight or Scottish.

There's a reason it's often known as Talk Shite.

Having said that, Danny Kelly's not too bad; much better than that oxf*rd Lovejoy on R5.

Are we sure it's not four to go and James to stay?
