Royal Rother The intelligence of RFC supporters has sunk to an all time low - virtually the ONLY thing that Rodgers has done wrong since he's been here is to announce in public that Tommy Smith wanted to come here; other than that he has been dignified, co-operative with the media and open about his thoughts and concerns.

Now, because we are near the bottom after 4 games (just 4 fcuking games) EVERYTHING he does is criticised as being the actions of a desperate man, a useless manager, a cock, a prick, a God-knows-what.

It is truly truly pathetic. He is a young manager with a great reputation in the game as a coach who develops young players - he has a very long history with the club and has been given a great opportunity here to develop his career and the club along new and modern lines; the supporters should be delighted to see him here because he has been a Reading Football Club person, man and boy, who obviously is desperate to succeed here, yet all you lot can do is lay into him.

You should be fcuking ashamed of yourselves.

Bunch of pcunts.

Have to agree with RR here

Now this might be a bit of panic measure to beef up the squad, but dont forget we were linked with both not long after Rodgers joined. My slant is that the timing is based on two things. 1) not getting Smith (and that was delayed coz we had to sell before we bought) and 2) Rodgers was giving the kids a bit of time to prove themselves before spending the incoming money on new players

I dont think any of that is really a bad thing, and I think these are pretty decent signings for where were at right now

From the Watford forum, it rather made me chuckle...

Quite how a 30 yr old Pole plying his trade in League 1 and a billy big bollox who's swanned around London's junior clubs doing jack shit his entire career are expected to haul us into the PL is quite beyond me. So I agree with you Rother - the intelligence of the Royals fans who swallow that bullshit is quite beyond me too!!

Yet another example of the PL ambitions of our fine club.

Now what would Tommy Burns have done in this situation I wonder?? oh yes, rushed off and bought more half-wits, has-beens and never-were's. Still, at least as someone here has said, we have a ready made replacement for the non-footballing Malian plank. Or maybe THAT'S the grand plan? Panic buy 2 more no-marks so there are more planks for the fans to vent their anger at, thereby lessening the pressure on the non-footballer, who will now magically learn the art of football!!! Blinding!!

Love this club I do, bloody love 'em to bits!!!!

C'mon UURRRZZZZZ!!

Realistically we're not hauling ourselves to the Prem though are we. we tried that last year and it didnt work

This is now a new long term project to build a new, hopefully long term, success around the youth we produce. These two will help bring the kids a long and get us results in the meantime

As for Rasiak being a "30 year old pole plying his trade in League 1", how many games has he actually played in League 1?

Rasiak is a decent signing although I would have preferred Craig Beattie..but he will give us some desperately needed height up-front and should be able to hold onto the ball using his noodle rather better than the existing options.
McAnuff...well he's had more clubs than Jack Nicklaus. Seems to flatter to deceive and not someone I would have gone for but lets see what he does.
Its a step in the right direction...but we are still desperately short of a hardman in central midfield to give this team some much needed grit.

winchester_royal Well said RR. HNA is getting to the point where it's almost unbearable coming on here.

You're kidding me, I haven't stopped laughing all day.

"Madejski/Hammond/Rodgers get a move on the transfer window shuts in 4 days and we're left with kids"

2 experienced players signed

"oxf*rd panic buys"

Genius.

ROFLeading fans :D

People whinging at a lack of ambition with these signings. I guess Shunt, Marucs, Sonko, Doyle, Ivar, Little, were all big time successes who signed for multi million pound fees... oh wait no they weren't

FFS two proven Championship players for less then a million is a great bit of low risk/high reward business. BR knows and trusts the players, they'll be used to his systems so can come in and fit in that bit quicker and they aren't adapting to a new area of the country either, so less chance of family problems etc.

On the other hand Many big money proven signings have all pretty much proved flops, Halford, Fae, Scott Murray, Marek (to an extent), Convey (1 good season in 4), Lita (2 good spells in 4 seasons) have all flattered to decieve despite big money being splashed on them.

I'm looking forward to seeing how GR and JM get on over the next few weeks. Not saying they WILL succeed, but they've done it before, why not again.

A few days ago I was thinking League 1 might beckon if we didn't sign a few players.

Now I reckon we are in with a shout of promotion if Rasiak and Hunt can form an understanding. Be nice to see all those calling for Rodgers' head crawling back under their stones soon.

FWIW I hear there will be 2 or 3 more signings before next Tuesday.

New Signings - Do You Think...

by Thou Voice » 27 Aug 2009 22:16

...that Rodger The Doger will actually allow these chaps to lightly skip around our field or will we be forced to have Balding Guy syndrome where they're not allowed to play until they have "gelled" with the rest of the team and by that stage it's all over?

I think these two players could be fairly exciting for Reading FC, we have now collected one on loan signing from the Premiership, a new player from the Championship and one from Division 1.

We have surely got to do a raid on Division 2 and the Blue Square Premier League before the season is out. They're like Pokemon you know, we gotta collect a player from every division with the exception of Wales as that is a silly little country and nobody will ever admit to coming from their or liking it. It's full of sheep botherers you know...
