BR came across as very confident and I thought was very good. What he said reminded me of the night the Tommy Burns was appointed and came to speak to those who had turned up at a hastily arraned event on the Southbank. He talked the talk but as we know failed to the deliver. The difference is that this time BR clearly knows the club and what it is about.

Hammond was calm and measured.

As usual the request was made to observe the no press rule which is why some of the answers here are not more detailed.

I agree with what you say. I was really impressed by both Brendan and Hammond last night. I felt that my concerns and questions were answered and I even feel now that I can get my RTG goggles out again today.

I just hope the fans and the club do give Brendan time to complete his revolution. He is clearly a very impressive man.

When people say about signings, do u feel more signings will b here before Tuesday?

Did BR and NH seem confident new players will arrive??

I believe the Chronicle speculated that there might be three or four newcomers. IMHO their lower estimate might be achievable.

There was no press invited and we were told that if too much was posted then the club would not be so open with us.

However, I can tell you that the message "where's the money gone?" has been received loud and clear and there will be more info on that when the transfer window closes.

Deadlock Discussions on signing Rasiak and McAnuff were ongoing before the Smith deal was gazumped.

Good news. Should hopefully quieten the 'panic buy' brigade.

Deadlock Hopefully two to three more signings before the transfer window closes, subject to agreements with the selling clubs and players. No indication as to who the targets are.

Good. I wait with hope.

Deadlock Harper may be sold. He, Doyle and Shunt were all asked at the beginning of last season to give us one more season in the hope that we would get promoted, on the understanding that RFC would not stand in the way of a transfer to a Premier club this summer.

As expected. I will not miss him too much. Fair play to Doyle. Not so much Hunt.

Deadlock No bids have been received for Rosenior.

Bad news but only if we have lined someone else of note up.

You don't expect anyone who has decided they are panic buys to listen to and believe what the club has said do you? Why do that when they can just make up their own mind based on their prejudice regardless of any evidence.

Now, this has made me pretty angry in all honesty. SHunt was asked to stay one more season to try and help us get promoted, but knew that if we weren't he could have a transfer to a Premier Club - and yet he played most of last season like he couldn't be bothered. If he'd upped his game, he may well have gone to a bigger club than Hull, but any scouts watching him last season would have been put off by his lack of technical ability and the fact that he obviously wasn't giving 100%. Well, thanks a lot Stephen Hunt. Thought you were so much better than little ol' Reading didn't you - the club that made you what you were - I hope Hull get relegated and make you stay with them for the next four years now.

I really think the one that the vitriol really ought to be poured on is SHunt's agent. He was the one who was constantly there in the background whispering "You're better than this, Stephen, you ought to be a PL player, Stephen." And then producing imaginary bids in an effort to drum up real offers. Is it any wonder his form went with those sort of constant distractions?

Less than clever, arrogant player with money grabbing agent is not a good combination.

This is interesting and reassuring to say the least. As long as the information is made available in a clear and concise manner instead of hiding behind accoutancy-speak then I will be happy. However, I reserve the right to spout complete bollox as per usual.

Just on a point of semantics, the statement made by the club would still be true if discussions on signing Rasiak and McAnuff only began after Pompey threw their hat into the ring, as the Smith deal was only 'gazumped' once signatures were on paper.

Given that Rodgers has said that failing to sign Smith made money available for other signings, that could mean that at best Rasiak and Smith were plan B and at worse were panic buys after Pompey promptly put their money where their mouth was and didn't try to jerk Watford around in the hope of getting the player cheap.

So that takes care of about 95% of the player / agent fraternity then... :o

Terminal Boardom TSTRS, my beef is with the club and the board. Not with BR or the players.

Again, talk of "the Board."

Anyone who knew the slightest about the way RFC operates would know that there is no "board" - except in the strictest legal sense. There is one man who owns over 99% of the share equity and makes 99% of the financial decisions. The board meets once a year and has one other named member on it because those are the minimum legal requirments for a company's Board of Directors.

But over the past few years on HNA I've learnt that as soon as someone talks about "the board" they have such little insight of RFC that it's not worth reading the rest of their post.

Yet you still had to pass comment. I am looking forward to how you deal with the East Stand when they start shouting "Sack the board!"

.

I was going to try to cover this by starting up with 'Sack Yourself'!

From my recollections, all 4 were asked - 2 verbatim, and two as "composites" sounded like they were combined with other people's questions on the same topic.

I got the impression that these deals have been discussed before/during the Tommy Smith debacle and that they would have been added alongside Smith.

Rodgers' comment about the Smith cash relates to the "two or three" additional signings that we might now make, doesn't it?
