Because we still dont have a left winger perhaps???????

Hal Robson-Kanu and Jimmy Kebe, although I'd rather not count him.

You get the point then, no left winger (at least not up to the job anyway)

Yeah, Clodagh's eyesight isn't up to much - he probably thought it was Kebe.

Coppell did something similar last year and when we were linked to Campbell-Ryce in January I got slaughtered for suggesting that their little conversation was a sign of our interest.

Did we sign him at the time? No.

Do managers chat to players from the other team after games? Yes.

We know we're interested in him. This does nothing to tell us if we're actually going to sign him or not. Given McAnuff, and the performances of Kebe & HRK in the last game, which both appeared very positive from everything I've seen, read and heard. It would be a little odd to be buying a new winger, who has just signed a lengthy contract extension at his current club.

Hoop Blah Would still be very pleased if he were one of the players we bought in to add that cutting edge in the final third.

We still don't have a proven Championship winger of any decent quality in the squad, so it's hardly surprising we're struggling upfront is it?

Just signed for Bristol City, undisclosed fee.

Shame.

Apparently he has been awful this season and hasn't been a regular for Barnsley and they can't afford to keep someone on his level of wages on the bench.

We don't have the money to take a risk on an underperforming player.

He's not great.

SIg playing in the middle would be though.

£250k worth the punt?

Short Cummings
Brian Howard

These two prove you wrong.

Howard wasn't a risk. He's a consistent, proven championship performer, and IMO he's shown that.

WHo says £250k?

Barnsley fans reckon it is £800k with Bristol City fans believing it is £500k. But as it is undisclosed I guess we won't be finding out....

The gamble element would depend on why he was underperforming.

He isn't a world beater by any means, but he is another winger out there who has shown in the past they are capable of having making a positive contribution to a team in this league. His pace and goals on the wing would've been quite a good fit, although possibly more so under Rodgers stewardship than McDermotts or AN Others.

Don't see anything wrong there. He has been solid, if unspectactular. Not necessarily able to fulfill the role he was bought for if it was as a creative, attacking midfielder. But he is good as a midfield workhorse, with a decent all round game.

Very much like McAnuff - Watford fans I know were glad to have got rid of him. Despite my reservations (based on nothing more than any real lack of knowledge) I think that he has easily been the best of Rodgers' buys.
