Williamson would be a good shout but I think it was a £3m bid from Pompey not us.

Fortunately their client list is a lot more expansive than that.

Pedro Mendes would be excellent. Kevin Lisbie not so!!! And wtf is Nile Ranger? Isn't that one of Tredder's pseudonyms?

The name that stands out to me is Jermaine Beckford, has been on the transfer list all summer and is out of contract at the end of this season. He would be sensational and maybe because of his contract situation we may get him cheaper

You certainly wouldnt get him on the cheap as its Leeds and they dont need to sell him. Have taken him off the transfer list and already turned down a number of bids from other clubs. So strike that one off for sure.

LOL at Pompey buying players that lil ol Reading are interested in. Have they forgotten they're in the Premier League or are they already building a squad for the Championship next season?

It gets better - just seen they're trying to sign Bolo Zenden and Amir Zaki. Looking likely that TS will be playing at the Madejski for the opposition next season 8)

My money is on TS coming to us either on loan or during the January sales!

Could be could be! Seriously though, if Beckford came to Reading I might even have to buy a season ticket in celebration!

The obvious name from that list and, dare I say it, the most realistic for me is Kevin Phillips. Getting on a bit maybe but proven in the last few seasons that, whilst he can no longer cut it in the Premiership, he is still has what it takes at at Championship level.

Agreed, but I can't believe he'd come here for £15k per week max.

Would any of that list bar Kevin Lisbie move for £15k a week max?

As Ark Royal said that list of players (taken from First Artist's website) is just a selection of their clients.

If the phonecall was just "to discuss a deal" are we convinced it is someone joining us? Anyone know who Harper or Marek's agent is for example?

And after that performance there's no way Newcastle would be letting him go any time soon...

Smoking Kills Dancing Doe We'll we find out tomoz won't we?

Agree if Harper or Marek leave priority changes.

Really don't see any posistive to selling Harps. I know he's got his faults, but who hasn't at this level??

I don't wish to start a Harper witch hunt but what positives are there in keeping a player who the manager clearly doesn't wish to play and has many other options in the same position, most of whom are younger, cheaper and performing better than James has for some time?

He's been a great servant for this club but it's as clear as night following day that the time has arrived for him to move on........................and he will leave with my very best wishes.

Celtic defender Darren O'Dea will pen a new three-year deal at PArkhead this morning - then immediately jet south to join Reading on loan.
