Archie's penalty
winchester_royal No.

Also McAnuff is a winger, and Howard plays in the middle.

From what I have seen of Howard he can play across the midfield and is very left-footed. Anyway let's see what happens.

I hope Marek goes!

But McAnuff isn't left footed.

HTH.

From BBC: Yorkshire sources suggest Sheffield United could be set to offload Brian Howard, just eight months after paying Barnsley £500,000 for the midfielder. The chat is that Howard was to be used as a makeweight in a bid to sign Reading's James Harper and even though Harper has turned down a move to Bramall Lane, Howard could still be heading for Berkshire. Harper may well be heading to Wolves instead, having been close to joining them last month."

If they want Harper, why would we want Howard? Surely they are saying that they rate Harper above Howard?

IMAMATEOFJOVSKY
Smoking Kills Dancing Doe How many times have our scouts watched Stock and Howard?

I'd guess between them over 100 times.

We all know from the opions people have of our players from the outside. It's impossible to make a judgement on a player without watching them pretty regular.

The little I've seen of both them seem different types of players. The fact we're going to Howard shows the type of player we want, which rules out Stock.

its down to money - Stock is rated at £3m, well above anything that we are going to pay - Howard as has been stated is a "makeweight" and cheap --like buying a Ford and a Mercedes ..you pay for the quality

How do you know that though?

Maybe Rodgers doesn't rate?

As I said that the fact we're going for Howard, shows we want a midfielder like Howard (and don't say like a shit midfielder smart ass!!) rather than one in the Stock mould. Shirley if we wanted a player like Stock, we would have signed a player like Stock if we couldn't afford Stock.

22 mins, even I'm watching SSN now.

Exactly. Howard is a more attacking player and technically superior. On the other hand Harper is more of a defensive midfielder.

Will be a great signing if it goes through as he can play anywhere across the midfield.

Managers don't all rate players the same.

How do you know that though?

all im saying here is that Stock is a better option than Howard - not only from a footballing perspective, but as an investment ... im not saying what Rodgers should do ...but ALL of us have our ideas of who we would like at club and not necessarily who Rodgers would like here

Maybe Rodgers doesn't rate?

Time will tell - if he's as good as you are saying then why would a club let him go ................................................
