ankeny Well month,Pipsqueak and rodgers are trying to lose all traces of Coppell and they are have nearly done their dirty work.I hope they are pleased with themselves, fukc the club

Prat. Look at the bigger picture! Huge wages, next summer no chute payments. We will be fine next summer as a result of the sales. Rodgers mean time can and is adding to the squad, being supported well in the market by the chairman, and all on a sensible wage structure once again. That is after all the main thing, unless of course you want to see us drop down the leagues with huge debts and points deductions for administration. We're in alright shape, have a side with some decent youngsters in it. We wont win promotion this season or next, probably, but so what? I'm more than happy with a young competitive squad in mid-table of this division!

These are still good times

Are u having a laugh? I feel like ive been shafted by madejski and the board, we where promised so much but have ended up with nothing to shout home about, its total bullsh*t the way the club has been run since we got to the prem. Always on the cheap if i ran my company like that i wouldnt have any customers or staff left...oopps

I am with Jay again, let's see how the young ones do. This could be the base of the next Prem squad at RFC.

I'm pretty confident that the people who have been complaining for years and years about lack of activity at the close of the transfer window are the same ones now complaining about too much. Certain people on this board just love the sound of their own whining.

Royalee Personally I'm delighted we appear to be getting rid of our two worst players and bringing in better replacements, sod the Coppell brigade and their nostalgia.

You are a nob mate- you are actually really getting on my tits. I thought you were a decent poster at first but now you spout nothing but shite.
Harper has made over 300 appearances for the club and had a shit second half of last season. Rosenior was an england under 21 and was one of our better defenders in the prem.

We've replaced them with no one, so how can they be worse than no one- would you rather play with 9 men? Who are these better replacements?

This club is frankly a joke, its like a car boot sale- everything must go.

Pulling away the team coppell built brick by brick with loan signings who won't be here next season- top work hierarchy. Michael Knighton is doing a fantastic job, I mean madejski sorry.

Get a bigger arsehole then!

We've seen much darker days.[/quote]

Yeah we have had darker days and what ? is that it then just because of this its ok to do things on the cheap ? Why the hell should us fans who pay for our season tickets, shirts and so on just be happy coz we've had darker days. The club have never had so much money and chances to get it rite have they?

I must admit that I am big fan of BR and his style, but any chance anyone thinks that this might be the "dawn of a new era" with a view to a Premiership return are so far off track, there is no way that Mr Ego will ever allow the Royals to return to the top league, it cost him too much money. I have no doubts that this was the deal that BR signed up to, the "get rid ofthe old, expensive, guard" and replace them with younger cheaper options" that is the way Mr Ego has always done it and he got lucky with SSC's bargain basement, he then got his fingers burnt and wont return again, sadly in the mad world of football you rarely make a profit on what you spend and that is just not his way.

I have to agree Howser. It might be realistic for this club to be looking at another new chairman and another 5+ years before any of the supporters see this happening. If ever.

The imbalance of the wage structure and the financial gamble needed to establish this team in the premier never really took hold.
IF the club had managed to stay up after the second year who knows what state this club would be in now after possible relegation a year later.

This club is where it needs to be right now and for that i am happy.

It was great profile for the club at the time and has established a few players careers in the premiership. The wage structure had to be reduced accordingly this year after again the push for promotion failed. This year is all about consolidation and regrouping / evolving the team.

I am surprised that thw wage structure isnt presented in a way that if you get to the Premiership then you get the expected "fat wedge" pay rise and bonuses.............but that is only while you are in the top league if and when relegation cmes the salary and bonuses reflect your failure to stay in the top flight ?

It is the constant sniping at the players from Coppells time that grates, still only about nine now ply their trade in the Prem, whereas we are now a league lower.

Still we bought a player for £2m so we are moving on.

Or, more likely, something is really wrong with JM's finances.

howser ...there is no way that Mr Ego will ever allow the Royals to return to the top league, it cost him too much money.

This is the sort of utter ignorance, fallacy and stupidity I abhor. If enough idiots say it enough times it becomes accepted as fact amongst their little group of numbskulls.

Now listen carefully.....

The club made a profit in 2 years out of the last 15 years - the 2 years we were in the Premier League. (And it is pretty unlikely it made a loss last year after taking into account player trading.)

During those years the value of the club was at least double what it is now we are back in the Championship.

So it did not COST Madejski money, it actually made him money, and it also gave him a chance of recouping everything he put into the club plus a very tidy profit on sale of the club.

So please stop this "Madejski won't let the club return to the top league" bollocks. Why would he not want to make a profit?

Lord forgive me for what I'm about to do.

Jay's right. Reading are NOT a MASSIVE club with a DIVINE RIGHT to be in the Premier League. Our attendances alone show that the last 3 years have been a blip, rather than this season being the blip. We should take our recent success gladly, but accept that it's not all Champagne and Skittles.

For months this board was brimming with ways to refresh the squad and the opinion that change was needed. Well you've got your change - rightly - so take it, understand that Rome wasn't built in a day and that rebuilding is required. Sometimes you can renovate a house, but other times you just have to accept that it'll be better all round to knock it down and start again.

This club has always been run "on the cheap" (or frugally!) and long may this sensible policy continue, especially given the trouble some truly "big" clubs are currently in.

Can we start to take bets on where Pompy will be in two seasons time??

They started this season in meltdown, they had a stab at the big time, but perhaps some can see that it is the manager that the players signed for, and of course money, rather than the club.

We are at a fresh start, there is plenty left from Coppells time, there are the youngssters that he let go on loan, and now have the chance to show what they can do, there are the old guard, lets hope they can up their game to previous levels, and there are new signings, a few who played for BR in the last season, they need to show his trust in them is correct, so ALL players have a personal and career challenge this season, lets see who can step up to it.

Those that do will make themselves money and possibly glory.

Ha Ha Ha

I love the fact that people on here talk like they have the intricate details of the RFC finances.
Anyone would think they were the actual accountants or board members - laughable

Although I’m pissed off we have sold decent players and not really replaced them with established, experienced names, time has come to grow some bollocks! What can any of you do about it?? Seriously what can you do - either the people at the top don’t read these threads or they just don’t give a shit.

All we sound like is a bunch of geeky plebs trying to put our own opinion forward and moaning about the state of affairs. You will still be there next game, next season and so on, and if your not then what’s your opinion worth anyway????

I’ve decided to get excited about the next couple of years - lets see where it takes us. I am as ambitious as the next fan as my previous frustrated posts will show however, I’ve not so much given up on the doom and gloom but more excited about new faces and the army BR is mounting to take on the best of the championship and then who knows. Who was it that said you'll never win anything with kids - well that twat was wrong.

Lets seriously not focus on promotion this year (if it somehow happens then fu*king brill) but I’m excited about our new look team and instead of listening to you all moan it would be good to hear you being so vocal in the terraces instead of letting the visiting fans drown us out as per last season.

Sorry about the Braveheart speech and I know the comments wont please as some of you wont like to be told you are proper blogging geeks supporting anyone but your own team and players - although I wont be surprised if those same people whine about my lack of posts, membership time and therefore the above obviously is a load of old shite
