Maguire Why is everybody so impatient on here?

It's very unedifying. All will be revealed in due course.

if the deal's have been done then there's no reason not to tell us - it is very strange that skysports haven't picked up on it........very strange goings on!

Stranded
Deadlock
Barry the bird boggler My guess is theye are waiting for all the paperwork to be confirmed by the FL, as the deals for Harper, Rosenior and any new right back are loans the clubs involved will feel there's no particular rush as these can be rubber stamped next week when the loan window opens.

One teeny weeny problem with this. As Platypuss pointed out many pages ago, season long loans had to have been completed by 5pm yesterday. When the emergency loan window opens next week players will be allowed to go on loan for a maximum of 90 days.

Which would all but take us up to the next window at which point deals could be made to be a window to window loan if needs be.

It's almost 4 months until the next window - not sure we'd want to be without those players over the busy Christmas period.

The Football League would have recieved a load of deals at 4 59. They are as useless as you would imagine and take their time with the back log. As long as all the required papers were sent before the close of the window it will go through.

Club can't say anything until league 100% confirm. Would look like tits if they said anything and it fell through.

It's bloody exciting if you ask me, under SSC deadline day was a non event, Rodgers has extended it!!

Rosenior and Harper won't be coming back to Reading FC

James Harper is convinced he has played his last game for Royals, but insists that the last eight years for him at Madejski Stadium have been beyond his wildest dreams.

The 28-year-old midfielder agreed a season-long loan move to Championship rivals Sheffield United yesterday, while Liam Rosenior has joined Ipswich Town on the same loan terms.

The deals signify the end of their Reading careers as both will be free agents next summer.

Speaking exclusively to the Reading Post, Harper admitted that he would miss the fans, staff and players.

He said: “I had a great time at Reading and the club and everyone involved with it have been a massive part of my life.

“The last few days for me have been pretty emotional, but I’m pleased that I’m leaving with no hard feelings.”

Harper, who joined Royals from Arsenal for £400,000 in 2001, added: “The fans have always been great to me and I’ll miss them and I’ll miss the banter of the training ground and the club, which everyone knows I really love.

“Somebody said to me the other day that Reading had been going since 1871 – but for the most successful years of its history I had been one of the main players and that is something I’m immensely proud of.

“I could see I wasn’t going to play this season, but I have no problem with that.

“I’ll say goodbye to all the lads on Friday and I obviously wish the club all the best for the future.”

Harper made more than 300 appearances for Royals.

Royals keeper Mikkel Andersen has gone on loan to Bristol Rovers.

My bad. Thought Cummings played well on Sky a while back. Chelsea wouldn't have let him go cheaply. On very little information, I'd take him over Rosenior.

I'll miss Harper. Very enthusiastic, gave his all and was a bit of an eccentric at times, but a good footballer and will always be part of the great record breaking team. Will always be welcomed back at Reading. I doubt he will be booed if returns in a Sheffield shirt or any other for that matter.

Do you think these have alll gone through and Rodgers/Blackwell/Keane are all hidden in a corner somewhere giggling going SHHHHHHH, DON'T TELL ANYONE?

There must be masses of paperwork going through this morning after late submissions yesterday and some of these deals might be less than straightforward.

Just wait and see what happens.

Why do they all leave it to the last minute?

Is it like auctioning on ebay?

It's only been on the shirt you've worn for 8 years, James...

I think that's bad punctuation by the journos. I read that to mean something like: 'Somebody said to me the other day: "Reading has been going since 1871, but you have been one of the main players for the most successful years of its history." That's something I'm immensely proud of.'

I don't think MK Dons were that impressed:
MKForum fantastically crap; made no effort; thought he was above team's level; got booed by fans

At least he'll know how to play with Bertrand...!
