shaka's shorts this story doesn't ring true - the source says he will sign when he is fit, but was apparently playing for their reserves this week in that game that was reported in NOW that was abandoned because of a mass brawl

he broke his ankle in February and only just training again now. Playing in the reserves is a way to get fitness back up, doesn't mean he is ready for 1st team football.

Believe me or not but wait a couple of months and here'll be here.

We've only got 1 and I don't think keeping Bertrand beyond this year was ever likely - he can't be recalled though

He's on a season long loan, isn't he? Therefore he'll be with us beyond the new year.

Kakuta is injured isn't he so the ban on him is rather pointless, therefore I would imagine Chelsea will even more happy to let him get experience on loan in January - presuming this rumour is not the standard load of old cobblers that we see a lot of on here.

Well that'll single handedly reduce Premier League transfer spending by a quarter. Would have been half before Man City's take over.

Why? Aren't they only band from signing new players? I didn't think there was anything about them letting players leave (on loan or permanently).

But he's been banned for 4 months

he's just returned from injury and now can't play

Ah - appologies - I hadn't read your link, had just heard the headline everywhere else and assumed that the only punishment was to the club and not the player as well

Thank you, yes I thought it was well known that when saying year in footballing term, you are of course referring to the season not the calendar year.

How would a reserve team manager do that?
