yeah, its the perfect way to get out this division. In fairness the record season under Coppell was very similar, just a shame that gradually developed into aimless hoof/kick it down the wing and chase that cost us our place in the Premier league and a horrific capitulation last season.

McGhee's football was brilliant to watch, especially with Simon Osborn in central midfield (and Kevin Dillon before him!), and I also thought that Burnley under Coyle reminded me of the same style.

Coppells football wasnt as good to watch, but very effective between 2005-7, because the team was perfectly balanced. Most of our goals came from wing/fullback play, and those 4 positions were occupied by excellent players. When Murts got old, Little, Convey injured, Shorey disinterested we started to struggle.
The other 3 full seasons under Coppell were a mixed bag, starting good, turning into woeful. I believe this was because of an imbalance in a rigid formation and style of play, with a lack of quality in key areas on the wings (andy hughes, paul brooker 2004/5. kebe, disinterested hunt 2008/9, Injury to Little, Oster, lack of depth and quality on the right 2007/8)

The question is flawed. Frankly, I don't really care if we get back into Big League or not (and financially speaking, I'd probably rather we didn't in honesty), but I do expect entertainment for the extortionate entry fee. My favorite recent (last 15 years or so) goal is THAT Argentina one against Serbia from 2006, and I will always maintain that is how football ought to be played. Now we just need to find our Riquelme...

Unfortunately, based on our 'full' internationals, our FIFA ranking would be about 120 at the moment, just behind Western Samoa and Chinese Taipei. Nothing like watching Argentina
