RFC 2nd best manager ever poll

by Ian Royal » 14 Sep 2009 19:08

Ok, so it's unbelievably obvious to all but the near terminally dense or blinkered who our best ever manager is. But who's 2nd? A much more interesting poll IMO.

Certainly one I'm struggling with deciding who to vote for.

Requested options entered. If someone else requests someone I'll dump out Jim & Mick who are only really in there for a laugh.

Don't like it, ignore it and it'll soon drop down the board. Or you could take a shot and make me respond, keeping it at the top. :P

This is a different question.

FFS. I've gone and voted now. Is that what my life has come to.

FSB for me. No contest. Bought in some brilliant signings, played sublime football and took this club to a level we had not ever come close to reaching before.

Manager - % won at EP
McGhee - 53.8
Drake - 69.7
Butler - 73.4
Evans - 59.1
Smith - 78.6

Just throwing it out there.

To counter-balance that Ian you would have to look at the level we were playing at under each manager, ie under Maurice Evans we were in the fourth division a lot of the time whereas under McGhee it was the third and then second division.
McGhee broke the mould and for the first time in our history he had us challenging for promotion to the top flight...then he left and in fairness to Gooding and Quinn they kept it together and we finished second...but it was with McGhee's team...Lee Nogan notwithstanding.

FFS! I didn't realising adding a couple of options would wipe all the votes.

That's the last time I try and be accomodating.

13 straight wins - record breakers - for that reason Branfoot all the way.

It's got to be McGhee - his team gave us teh impetus to move grounds as fans were regularly locked out.
