I'll attempt to but keeping on the middle ground is like trying to walk the tightrope at the moment!

Cant be arsed to read through all 9 pages but Rodgers rested Mills cos he's carrying a knock and didn't want him to aggravate it leaving us with even less option in defence. :?

Terminal Boardom As I see it, spending such a large amount of money on a player and not using him is akin to buying a flash car and leaving it in the garage.

How does that compare with keeping it in a glass case in a gymnasium?

For the record I would just like to state that I am not a racist as evidenced by the fact I have just eaten a biryani and washed it down with several bottles of Cobra.

The one who is making the most sense, regardless of playing experience.

But surely people who have played football, regardless of whether it was for your school team or for Real Madrid, will be in a much better position to make an informed judgement?

For example you are more likely to chose a trained plumber, not some random bloke you meet in the street, to fix your plumbing!!

David Pleat has a history in football.......I know loads of football fans who can speak more sense than him.

Can we just let BR do his thing?

He's assembled a squad and over the next 10-20 games or so he needs to work out his startin 11.

This isn't exactly easy seeing as he started from scratch.

GIve BR time.

So what if the 2m signing didn't play!??

Lita was a £1million signing 'for the future' and look how that worked out.

Maybe we SHOULD stick to the gippo signings :D

Going back to the debate about Pearce and Mills...

Personally I think they're a little too similar to make a particularily good partnership but both are capable defenders at this level.

Pearce has his limitations but he's a pretty effective stopper and he's quite composed on the ball. Admittedly he doesn't try to make anything other than sensible and safe passes, but that's really all you need from a centre back. He takes the safe option and keeps the ball, even if that means a short pass to the other centre back or back to the keeper.

I can't believe people are questioning his ability in the air. Even on Wednesday night, against one of the best target men in the division he held his own and we can't expect anyone playing for us to do a better job snuffing out Chopra and Bothroyd than Pearce and O'Dea did for us on Wednesday night. Royalee has it pretty much spot on in his appraisal of Pearce role in the goals we've conceeded too.

As for Mills, well like I said I think he's quite similar to Pearce, albeit with a bit more pace. From the little I've seen of him so far I'm sure he'll come good in long term.

O'Dea is going places. His strength and composure on the ball is unbelievable for a guy his age. It's no insult to Mills that he's been benched to accomodate Darren.

Ideal ...can't even make the team.

Discuss.

think hes looked pretty shit so far tbf, playing at this level seems quite daunting to him if anything, I'm sure he'll settle in eventually tho

I haven't been overly impressed with him so far.

He looked a lot better on Wednesday than he did against Donny though, when I don't think he took much responsibility and wouldn't attack the ball enough for my liking.
