Brendan Rodgers Sacked - Prediction Thread

by (.)Boobies(.) » 18 Sep 2009 13:25

There are growing rumours that there is some unrest beind the scenes, and young Brendan is now under real pressure to get some results. It doesn't sound like the club are prepared to be too loyal this time around and risk another relegation.
Well you all like the match by match predictions, and you're all toss at 'em as well, so get your predictions in now.

I read the title of this soon-to-be-merged thread on the HNA front page 'Latest Discussion' links and it falsely raised my hopes, damn you :|

Same source that got two of the summer signings right and that was spot on with all the Tommy Smith developments. But read into it what you will, every manager is under pressure... But there is, and I quote "growing unrest".

Interesting. At what level? Board? Dressing room? Both?

"Growing unrest" could refer to the frustration of the squad at the lack of winning. It doesn't necessarily mean that the players are losing faith in the manager?

Is that you counting up the number of rumours on this site and converting it to a fact associated with the club.

I think he's currently under slightly less pressure than an established manager in any league suffering the same failure to deliver the fans expectancy, but nowhere near the pressure that he'll be under in Jan if we're still in the mire. But even then I think the first option will be to release a few funds before we sack, otherwise a new manager will expect funds anyway even before he's delivered.

He wasn't given a 3 year contract for nothing and he did say that the squad was not yet complete and that we may be in for more change in Jan.

Absolute earliest is 31 October.
More likely no earlier than 1 December, assuming we carry on with about the same points per game ratio up to game 20, but don't actually get significantly worse in the next 8 games.

That would be pretty harsh given that he's been forced to sell almost all the squad.

Pardon?
I quote the bbc.co.uk site:
• The Royals have failed to score more often than any other club in the Championship (five), and have recorded more goalless draws than any other side (three).
• They have found the net just four times. Only Swansea have scored fewer Championship goals.

LOL @ you using statistics as the indicator for how we're playing.
