Re Smith - how many has he scored for Pompey? They're in a bit of trouble themselves and he's not shone - so why would anyone think he'd shine in this team?

Really.... are you sure about that??!! Tommy Smith

How do we know that he didn't want to keep the likes of Murty/Duberry/Marcus etc - they were all shipped out before his appointment

He messed up the Tommy Smith transfer through his big mouth.

"Tommy Smith definitely wants to come here" the moment Rodgers made this statement he messed up that transfer.

U have to feel sorry for the bloke.. he tries.. he can be a resoniory at times when he speaks.. well most of the time.. but who would reject managing a club like reading.. i wouldnt. at times like this when we feel our most vunerable we need to feel the reassurance of the ones nearest and dearest.. in taht respect it is time to back brandon rodgers even more and let him know WE ARE WITH YOU!!!

I doubt BR was in any way involved in the financial side of the negotiations!! Everyone knows the money problems that Watford have!

I know BR made that comment - and right or wrong he stated early on in pre-season he was the one player he wanted to bring in and the tight arses that control the purse strings made sure that they fcuked the deal up by going in with embarrassing offers!

He slowed the transfer down by making that comment and it gave Watford an excuse to sell Smith to Pompey. This was always going to happen after that comment was made.

People are saying players were sold without his say so, but he brouht in 7 players that he wanted and he requested we buy, so this is his fcking shit team he has created. Only Rodgers is to blame.

I'll be wearing yellow next Saturday and goin to love the abuse BR wil get.

Get out of e club before you ruin us.

Talk about rewriting history!!!

Portsmouth only came in right at the death after duck*rse's poodle 'balance the books Hammond' had spent an absolute eternity antagonising Watford by trying to get Smith on the cheap.

How do you know that the original offer wouldn't have gone through without Rodgers comment, Smith only had a year left on his contract. I'm not saying Hammond was blameless but Rodger's comment gave Watford the excuse.

Our fall from grace and decline could very soon be similar to those of Norwich, Southampton and Charlton. JM has to be thanked for all the good times he has brought us, yet if we keep on this way, his recent attempts to cut cloth and sell up could have us back to square 1 (not quite, we have the Mad Stad and we've been in the Premiership, but still very close)
