I was there, what a day!! I also went on the pitch after the game, I was the one sat on the centre spot looking woefully at the Directors Box. Afterwards I went to the pub and drowned my sorrows. (I think I did that quite often in those days)
I have supported this club since 1981, when I moved to the area, and have been through all of the ups and downs since then. This is real football and I look forward to the glory days, for they shall surely come again. If not, I will no doubt see you Loyal Royals as we flounder in the lower leagues.
I am quite happy for RFC to be a good Championship team, with occasional flurries in the Premiership, but I don't want to go back to the days of struggling to stay out of the relegation zone in the Championship, or even worse the 1st Div.
