Royal Lady I'm pretty sure Handbags Harris is your man!! PM him SymonsO

To be honest, I'm not. I wouldn't go back into recruitment unless it was a last resort. There's something intrinsically wrong with trying to persuade a person to take a job that they're not sure about, and is pretty clear is not in their best interests. A Recruitment Consultant's primary interest is the money for them and their company, it is not the candidate's or client's.

They pay money.

What JSA? I don't get it any more as what I am entitled to goes on my NI contributions to cover my JSA instead.

As someone who employs people I can confirm I freaking despise recruitment consultants, in the past they have played a close second to estate agents in the bullsh*t stakes but they may well now have secured the number 1 spot.

SymonsO If you're the sort of individual who is intelligent, driven, ambitious, determined resilient.

So you search for this candidate on a website for people who slack off work to talk about football?

SymonsO 20K Basic rising to £26k after 12 Months plus commission.

a recruitment agency didn't give me any work for 8 weeks just so I would be available to fulfill a post with what they considered to be a more prestigious company, however I left that job after securing a mortgage, giving a story to the Guardian about the prestigious company and had got my dream job elsewhere.

TBF boasting that you earn more money than your friends doesn't exactly enhance my image of recruitment consultants, who seem to be solely motivated by earning money for it's own sake.

if I was a recruitment consultant I would be thinking of the money and clock watching all day long to spend the money down the pub to help come to terms with my career path.

Maybe I've misread it and you weren't bragging, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt.

But can I ask - why is it important to you to earn more money than all your friends? Is this some kind of inferiority complex then, if it's not about the bragging rights? The amount my friends earn is of little importance to me.

Unless your going for a job interview somewhere I may or may not work that values open and honest communication above and beyond ability.
