So then, I wonder whether Santa will be bringing us a change of ownership or whether we will still be discussing this in 6 months?

New owners normally have a new manager in mind as well, so ol' Buck wants to get his arse in gear because the only impression he's making at this club, is a negative one so far.

Stranded I too have heard that talks are much more progressed than previously thought, could well explain the lack of a financial statement too. If you were buying a company would you want the finances to be public knowledge when they didn't need to be?

"at an advanced stage" was what I heard last week. I've been away with work, so am trying to gather what I can on this, but it is, as you'd expect, very cloak and dagger with both parties preferring to do business quietly. Something John Madejski prefers.
Still no idea what "at an advanced stage" means though, as we could be talking a month or even 12 months still.

I am not a regular poster, but I do have very close links to the club.

I am not going to post idle speculation, I will only post what has been confirmed to me by very senior people within the club. In support of previous posts, I can confirm talks have been ongoing for some time, are at a very advanced stage, and the board have now recommended to SJM to accept the tabled offer. I have no idea on the potential buyers, their nationality or wealth, I am not privy to this. I do know that SJM wants/needs to release some cash as his businesses have struggled over the past 18months and additionally he requires significant funds to invest in the commercial project adjacent to the Reading Train station. You may have noticed he secured planning permission for this only last week.

Again, as you may already suspect, the decision to offload both the high earners and also the valuable players this summer is to provide a strong financial structure to ensure the Club is an attractive buy. Whilst I am hugely disappointed with Rodgers' start, the dealings were out of his hands and not something he could influence.

I'm lead to believe the due diligence should be completed soon, anticipate the sale being completed before the January transfer window opens, an opportune time for us. I have no idea whether the club will receive significant player funds.

Why do you find that weird? Do you think he should be posting the same thing every day in a vain attempt to convince the unconvincable?

Oh, and thanks Insider.

What about this very reliable Journo that broke the news before winchester? There has to be something to this if he got wind of it. He rarely prints anything that isn't factual.

Given that I told you all that talks were still on-going, I've hardly 'gone quiet'. There have been no further incidents so far, therefore I'm not going to excite the HNA populus by claiming a near deal.

Interesting stuff if it is to be believed. It may well explain why the club have remained fairly quiet on the promised statement regarding the whereabouts of the monies received over the last few years.

One question though. IF SJM sells up, will the new owners want to install their own manager etc or are we stuck with the tactical clown that is Rodgers?

Well if you are lying, that was very well written. Fingers crossed. Maybe some exciting times ahead.

Worth noting that 'The Insider' is indeed a rare poster - has never made up a rumour in the last 3 years, but equally has never given any inside information either. Strikes me as a bit phony.

Take The Insider's post with the largest pinch of salt. Details about any takeover are very few. From someone who knows a few different people at the club and media, I can't even give you what this lad has. There are talks ongoing with a potential buyer, and these are 'rumoured' to be at an "advanced stage". But other than that, everything is being kept very quiet, which is the SJM way.

I'd say that any talks aren't even "advanced" - nothing has gone past "exploratory" at this stage.

Two very reliable sources both say we're at an advanced stage, but exactly what that is and what stage we're at, who knows.

Joked about it with my mate on saturday but you never know..........

We held back after the game as his Dad is a little bit frail now and we wanted to let the crowd clear before making our way out. About 10 minutes or so after the game 2 very smartly suited gents, one fairly Eastern looking, came to the top of the tunnel and seemed to have a panoramic survey of their surroundings.
