I'm just happy with a win. Clearly we were hanging on a bit, but Preston are 3rd in the table, and we are very low on confidence so that was to be expected.

Glad we got a much needed win, but we do need to keep our feet on the ground. It's good to win at a fairly tough place, but we still got to concentrate and continue the momentum come saturday. Still worried about our second half performance as well, no point in getting a good start if you can't finish well. I do hope Rodgers doesn't tinker with the team unless necessary. Same formation, same team please.

Many on here constantly moaned that SC always put out the same team and now moan that Rodgers does not do so. I think in time we will see Rodgers tinkering as tactical know how. We shall see.

I think that you will find it expressed as going from one extreme to the other. HTH

Can't we all just be happy with the fact we ended the unbeaten home record of the 3rd placed team in the table. Preston are a very good team, brilliant at home, and we've won. Rodgers has done that, the team have done that.

I just think that it was partly the reason why we weren't winning games though. Coppell was reluctant to change a team and formation if we won or drew (only cases being against Chelski, Man Utd and Arsenal) while Rodgers changed the team after a convincing win over Barnsley. Why fix something that isn't broken?

It most certainly is, but it's still worth keeping our feet on the ground. We still have close to relegation form. Our second half performance almost threw away another game.

Tis indeed, but the second half was nail biting stuff again which is what really worries me about Rodgers. What did he learn from Mourinho? Certainly not the real lesson that the "special one" taught. The PNE manager was on the back foot and had to change something at half time, but all he could do was make changes to counter what they'd met in the first half, so you change something too - almost doesn't matter what - and the oppositions' changes are negated.

I'm very happy and I hope Rodgers goes on to become our greatest manager so far, but I'm a long way from convinced by tonight.

The argument would be that a game away to Barnsley has totally different demands and challenges for the team than a home game against Doncaster.

I'd rather a little less chopping and changing, but I think a lot of Rodgers changes have had some logic behnd them. Others less so!

I think we may see one or two changes regularly this season as he flips between two defensive midfielders out of 3 away and two attacking midfielders out of 3 at home.

That would be acceptable to me (providing it works ).

**Breaking news**

Roast chicken for tea.

I once had a spell that lasted over 2 seasons where every time I had a roast dinner before a game we won. It got to a point where I had to make sure I had one if it was looking like a tricky game.

Unfortunately I can't have a roast before the game on Saturday. I'm working but taking a half day and will be there though!
