Sun Tzu Cheers for that Dirk.

I think it's fair to allow the Insider some slack on the term. Not unreasonable to have the management 'board' being the ones making recommendations to SJM with the company Board then making decisions.

But doesn't that 'board' consist of SJM and one other? The Insider claims the board has advised SJM to take the offer. Yet SJM is half of that board? :|

The only 2 people on this thread known to be reliable (unless I've forgotten someone else - has Stranded posted?) are Gazza Loyal Royal & (.)Boobies(.)

As Dirk pointed out there is also the Management Board which consists of Nigel Howe, Bryan Stabler, Pat Coyne etc etc and is the board that effectively runs the club . I don;t think the use of the word 'board' kills the original post. It may be nonsense anyway but the idea that a'board' has recommended a course of action to THE board is pretty reasonable in itself.

My source tells me the 'board' is actually reference to HNA? and SJM is considering our well thought out advice.

Have any of these ITK posters actually confirmed anything that the club haven't already?

If, as rumours suggested, the financial statement wasn't being released because of interest from someone in buying the club, now that the statement has been released, does this mean the deal is all but done, or that the deal is off, I wonder.

Or just that it's bubbling under and that the media have lost interest...

I can't see the statement made having any bearing on whether there's soon to be a take over or not, it merely explained the reasons behind our current position.

it might not be that the Arabs are looking at RFC at all. The finance part of the club don't just do RFC books, but a lot of the other companies Madejski owns that don't have their own individual finance department.

So in reality the Arabs could be looking at another companies accounts that are simply done at RFC

*sigh*

I was told that the REASON the financial statement by the club hadn't been released was because of the alleged interest in a take-over bid.

Now that the financial statement HAS been released I was merely suggesting that this could mean that the deal is off, OR that the deal has all but been finalised.

PRESS interest in a take-over - not actual interest from a potential buyer.

PRESS interest in a take-over - not actual interest from a potential buyer.

So releasing the statement before now would have meant that the press would have speculated what? That someone was/was not interested in buying us?? What difference does that make?

To my mind, and mine only, no other agenda, he said he'd release a statement because of the "where's the money gone?" chants. And, knowing how accountants are very very good at making profits seem much lower in order to have a lower tax bill etc, I still take some of it with a small pinch of salt. Plus, and I seem to be the only one who is angry at this, the money loaned to the hotel is what gets me. If we'd used half of that in order to strengthen the squad/pay the going wage rate either whilst still in the Prem or even last season, we most probably wouldn't be in this mess now.
