facaldaqui It does seem a bizarre policy to sell all your best players and then expect to push for promotion. What on earth could make Madejski think that's feasible?

The answer I think is a delusion created by the Coppell miracle.
To be fair, Pardew also achieved quite a bit without spending big (and he signed Shorey) as did McGhee.

Madejski has been fortunate with managerial appointments on those three occasions.

Thou Voice Royal & Ancient - very well put.

Terminal Boardom - I expect they'll offer us "2 Free Games" for our friends.

The way we're performing at home that's a pretty quick and effective way to get rid of friends!

Because if the board can decide to randomly cut costs, so will we.

Not sure how my original thread 'Short Changed' became a vote of confidence but thanks anyway for your comments pro/anti. Good to see that Hob Nobbers can still post intelligently. But I am still not best pleased with what is happening to the Club after all the hype and so, apparently, are many others- not just on this board either!

I will renew, if you are a true supporter then why would you not?! I know that they are doing bad but they have been in worse positions than this. As a supporter you expect there to be highs such as promotion but at the same time you expect heart ache like relegation and possibly relegation again - look at when they lost the play offs and then went down the following season. I may only be a young female but hey this is the club that I love and will continue to support come hell or high water. There is nothing that as a supporter you can do other than support them. I don't understand how people can in one breath complain over the so called supporters that jumped at the chance of seeing Man U etc when we were in the Prem and then in the other turn round and say that they aren't going to bother anymore. If you support a team then you should support them no matter what. I don't like Madejski and think that he should go along with Hammond but can't do anything about that, I think that Rodgers should be given a decent chance as it was not his fault that a lot of players were got rid of BEFORE he arrived therefore not giving him any choice as to what he can do. A manager can only work with what is left and what he gets given money wise to buy.

Because spending £500 on something like football isn't an essential. If people can't afford it and don't see value anymore then they won't renew, real fan or not.

strap
AF1 Fact : Whenever someone feels the need to tell you how long they have been a supporter as if to back up what they're posting then every single time what they're posting is utter bollocks.

You really are an utter tit, aren't you? When a supporter of 20/25/30 odd years standing is moved to write about their current feelings on hwo the club is run, I would suggest that the fact they have been watching for the club for all those years actually gives a bit of credance to their views. They have, after all, ben along for the ride for a considerableperiod of time, investing a considerable amount of time, money and emotion in the club.

I would certainly spend more time listening to their views than some of cr@p spouted by the spooty faced plastics who have jumped on board since we got into the 2nd tier, never mind the PL.

Have a bit of respect, as BR tells us all to.
