That Friday Feeling Not suggesting you should kick up a massive stink about it but mistake or otherwise information held about me appears to have been shared without my permission. I'd like to think that it might at least warrant a mention at the monthly management meeting that STAR sit on - even if it's just to hear the RFC explanation.

Perhaps you should contact the club yourself for an explanation and if you aren't happy the Information Commissioners Office. I don't see what the feck it has to do with a Supporter's Trust just because Spacey and another mong decide to have a middle englander hissy fit.

Don't buy that.

1. 'Press 1 for Reading FC'
2. My email was shared through the Reading FC website etc. not the Mad Stad ticket office.
3. The club may wish to outsource the provision of the ticketing to the Mad Stad (what ever company that is), but they still retain responsibility under the DPA

4. I'm not that bothered, but an apology would be nice.

But not my email.
If I'm not talking to RFC, I'm talking to their agent. Point 3 stands.

Email is linked to membership number

Still like you, I'm not bothered, let's leave it to Spacey to follow up with the club as he's the most offended. In fact I'm more hacked off that RFC don't do a similar thing.

Perhaps he can post their reply on here.

Me, most offended? I just didn't want the email and deleted it.

Oh and I threatened to complain only if they did send me another email despite me unsubscribing myself from their mailing list. I'll play the waiting game.

RFC have a bad start to the season. Nobody's personal data is compromised. Has anyone died yet? No. but 80% of Nobbers fail to get a grip.

The begining of the end.

The Chairman prepares to wind up RFC as a major loss making division of RFC holdings. This allows the profitable parts of the business like the Hotel and conference centre to feed profits into the holding company. London Irish are now the key tenants and need to be supported as such.(hence the early trawling of the RFC database). The football club is allowed to die quietly at the foot of league two with no blame attached to anyone for it's demise, after all it is almost impossible to run one at a profit. With the poxy football out of the way they are able to capitalise on the redundant support left by the death of RFC.

The spare match days are then filled by the hoops from QPR, who also pay the holding company huge amounts to play in the Madejski stadium in their return to the Premier league.
The cost of developing a new stadium anywhere near West London has proved to be hugely expensive and the cuckoo plan is the only one that makes sense. The powers at QPR had been looking to build a 38,000 capacity stadium and would need to arrange planning permission before any deal could be done. After initial anger and mourning, Reading fans begin turn up in droves to watch the newly named Queens Park Royals sweep all before them domestic and european competitions. After a period of time, the holding company from the now defunct Reading football club sells all of its interest to the now re-named Queens Park Rangers.

Reading Town's gates rise to almost 2000.

The only way they'll get 2000 at Scours Lane is if they knock it down and build a TEsco !

Thaumagurist* Yes, I got this shit too and I wasn't too happy about those people spamming my email inbox. I simply went and unsubscribed myself from their mailing list. If I do get another one from those london scum, I will be making a complaint to somebody.

That's thems told.

Ian Royal I very much doubt it. Most people have very little understanding of what the Data Protection Laws mean in my experience.

I suspect the emails probably come from the company owning the publicity rights for events at the stadium and are advertising accordingly. Thus not having to pass details to anyone. It would be pretty mickey mouse to break DP laws.

I'm pretty sure that the majority of people in this country have very little understanding of any niche laws.

Hence The Strange One EPR insisting that I'm going to get very arrested at some point :D
