The poll should have said SHOULD he be sacked, which is somewhat different to "will he" - SJM really won't want to waste yet more money.

True.

And to RL there's millions of polls about that - bring one up.

I can't believe the comment(s) he (BR) made in today's Evening Post regarding my type of player. What kind of message does that send out to the current squad! He might as well have said you lot are all rubbish (which is true in some cases) and not what I'm looking for despite the fact that he signed a few of them and shipped out the rest. In addition, why sign Rasiak when at Watford BR apparently told him he wasn't his type of player and then go and sign him for RFC??!!!!! Lost the plot? Me thinks so.

Rodgers will be sacked, it is only a matter of time. Because I don't believe he's capable of turning this around. If it's not tomorrow it will be Tuesday. If not then, then eventually as the poor results will keep coming and the cost of sacking him will be irrelevant. The tide has turned from the fans' perspective and he won't last much longer, I'm sure. Wholesale changes tonight may have been a bold move but it backfired I'm afraid.

I think he has lost the dressing room and once that happens, there is only one inevitable outcome: resignation.

Cannot see Mr Ego coughing up for the rest of a three-year contract.

How do you lose a dressing room when you have given virtually all of the players their big chance?1

Agree with the second bit though.

I think he could well have lost the dressing room as even the players have realised he talks shit.

He's alienated every Reading player over the last 3 months including the club captain. He'll be gone as a result.

In principle, he shouldn't be sacked so soon. It would be only fair to give him a chance to turn things round and see how he goes against some of the lesser clubs coming up. Also, we don't want to put his staff in as caretakers, which would only make things worse. However, if we sack Rodgers too late in the season, it could make the job of avoiding relegation too hard for a new manager.

In practice, though, this is the IDEAL MOMENT to sack Rodgers. It would be harder if he starts to get more mixed results, as he would then have a case for saying he was starting to get somewhere. If we sack Rodgers now, it will give a new manager a chance to look at this squad until Christmas, before deciding who he needs in the window. Also, we might give a new manager some leeway till Christmas, knowing how bad this squad is (I don't think any manager could keep this squad up unchanged).

who's going to stump up the compensation for sacking him less than 6 months into a 3 year contract?

You do know who our chairman is, right?

And as Platy said, Rodgers' ego is too big for him to resign.

We're stuck with him
