Rodgers took the job ffs - he must have had some idea of what he was getting into.

Yes, you could blame the players too, but if the coaching/management of them is inept, what can you expect of them. Half the time they look like they haven't a clue, and that's down to the manager I'm afraid.

I don't feel sorry for him at all. He's bigged himself up and now he's been found out.

Sat 8 15:00 H Nottm Forest FLC D 0-0
Forest spend heavily during Summer and with a proven Champ Manager bore draw us

Sat 15 17:20 A Newcastle FLC L 0-3
Multi million pound squad and favourites to win the league outplay us in front of 38,000 emotional supporters - currently 2nd in Champ

Tue 18 19:45 A Swansea City FLC D 0-0
Shite performance but not in anyway outplayed

Sat 22 15:00 H Sheffield Utd FLC L 1-3
Couple of lucky breaks for Sheff Utd. Federici howler to make it 2-1 after competing really well with one of the leagues favourites to get promoted

Sat 29 15:00 A Barnsley FLC W 3-1
Outplayed them on their own turf for 90 minutes

Sat 12 15:00 H Doncaster FLC D 0-0
Shite performance

Wed 16 20:00 H Cardiff City FLC L 0-1
Seasoned / much fancied established Champ side edge a 1-0 win. Albiet shite performance

Sat 19 15:00 A Peterborough FLC L 2-3
Brilliant first 45 minutes - homeside score early and momentum switches. Naiive performance 2nd half, encouraging 1st half

Sat 26 15:00 H Watford FLC D 1-1
Shite performance

Tue 29 19:45 A Preston FLC W 2-1
Hung on towards the end but totally dominated top 6 club for first 45 minutes

Sat 3 15:00 H Middlesbrough FLC L 0-2
Top 6 side for sure this year, outplayed us without breaking into a sweat

Sat 17 15:00 A WBA FLC L 1-3
Top of the league. Enough said

Tue 20 20:00 A QPR FLC L 1-4
Nine goals in last 2 games with a well above average Champ. squad

Some shame there - notably at home, but certainly no worse than what Coppell oversaw towards the end, with half the squad players available to him.

PEARCEY

Its what I've been saying all along WR....but you seem a very recent convert to this. :)

But he was cheap and has a world class model and knows the "special one" and has great links to Chelsea to get there best players and has a shiny watch and hasn't got the right players for the job and has only been given £3m to spend and breathe....

Interesting stuff there SKB, and does put it slightly into perspective. We've had a tough run of games, and TBF to Rodgers he should probably get the next 4 games to see if he can sort it out.

13 league games in. Most fans on here will only have seen the 6 home games and they want Rodgers sacked.

I just find the whole thing bizarre. Maybe I'm lacking the ability to do emotional ill-thought-out outbursts as I get older.

In fact sod it - I'll go with the rest of you.

After all my negativity I'm pretty sure that he will get the Leicester game at least. I think if he loses that then he will probably go of his own accord. If not the Ipswich one has to be his last chance.

2 wins 4 draws and 9 losses can't be accepted surely?

Before tonight I would agree with giving him another four games...but conceding two goals against 10 men...that really hurts.
I know its only 13 League games and in truth it really isn't long enough but we are going sharply in the wrong direction now...and he really doesn't have a clue what his best side is. Thats what worries me.
I think he should go now but if he's given four more games he has to get a minimum of six points...and if gets those well lets see if there is any improvement thereafter. I can't see it though. I really can't.

It's not good enough. But I'm still not sure it's enough, especially considering all the change and the quality of the opposition, to get him sacked yet.

We MUST get something out of Leicester however. We are in serious relegation danger ATM.

This is a wind-up surely? This is the most ridiculous stat I've seen - they've actually scored 8 in the last 2 and 4 of them were against us tonight! Think how many Leicester will have scored in their last two games when they put 5 past us on Monday!!

The only trouble with form analysis is that form keeps changing. Teams in bad form at the moment might be in good form when we play them ... Ipswich and Plymouth might improve, for example. Last season, we thought it a good thing that we'd played all the best clubs away by Christmas, but then a bunch of the lesser clubs improved, while some of the better ones became inconsistent.

Agreed, we need to give Rodgers as much time as possible. Time for him to turn it round, but also time for a new man to work some magic if Rodgers ultimately fails. It's all about timing and a tough one to call. If relegation is staring us in the face at xmas, perhaps a new man should be brought in to work the transfer window.

Its much more than that though. As supporters we have had to watch the squad that brought the greatest success this club has ever had completely dismantled in a matter of weeks. We are seeing these same players playing in the Premiership week in week out. They have been replaced with journeymen who have no real connection with the fans. Meanwhile it still costs a mint to go to games...best part of £100 for me and my two kids(including the rip-off price to park in the park and walk).
Our club continues to plunge down the League. In the space of two years we have gone from being within an Ace of being in Europe to the possibility of playing at the same level as Aldershot.
Oh and we have gone nine months without a home win.

What do you expect???

Let's just see how it goes on Monday. Can't believe it will be my first home game of the season - can't say I'm really looking forward to it.

It's a bit as if Madejski was Labour declaring 'No boom and bust.' The bell curve is starting to take shape people, the bell curve is starting to take shape.

That's risky. Paul Jewell said it didn't work trying to do that with Derby because you buy new players, they don't have time to gel, and if you still go down, they are implicated in the failure and the failure goes on the next season. Burns was brought in much later but something like that happened to him, and I hope Madejski learnt from it. If we get rid of Rodgers now, a new manager could assess this squad properly before acquiring what he needs at Christmas. Blackburn took this approach in sacking Ince and bringing in Allardyce, and it worked.

To be honest I would be happy if they made SOME sort of move. Rodgers is clearly a bright man but also clearly out of his depth. He's young, has loads of ideas but needs a calming head. Why can't Coppell come back in as an advisor or someone of his ilk? It's been done before and will be done again.

Some steps need to be taken - it really is too much for a 36 year old manager in such a high profile job.

Oh and very good point re: Allardyce Facqualdi.
