I'm going to turn up on Monday to watch the game !

And possibly smile at those getting all over excited becasue they are 'protesting' despit ehaving no idea why or what for.
Why not be radical and just shout and scream in support of the team.

It would be effective becasue it's not happened for a while and may actually have some results.

I'll be pretty unhappy if the game gets destroyed by some childish cartoon activity (no, not the players)

If people actually do protest, I would hazard a guess that it may be about the fact that their team has been turned from a top half premiership ship side to a steaming pile of division one bound shyte in just two and a bit seasons. Just a hunch.

Surely with the next game on Sky SJM will be giving one of his pitchside interviews (full confidence in the manager, temporary blip, difficulties in coming down from the prem etc) and there will be scope for a questioning of his management and financial abilities if anybody can be arsed to leave the concourse - even more so if he decides on his normal regal wave and lets all applaud me in the stadium named after me routine.

Funny that he hasnt been doing his pitchside walk around the stadium applauding the fans recently.

Im looking forward to a good old fashioned protest. We haven't had one for 10 years, and the last proper one was at Elm Park after the Port Vale game.

Are we all so reserved these days that the most we will do is just not bother going? Or maybe a half hearted "Rogders Out" (Whilst remaining seated of course).

Or are we going to stand up for ourselves and stop letting the club treat us like shit?

You can't really "organise" a protest though. It has to be spontaneous or it'll be crap.

Good point Rev. But it needs to be visual and making the point loud and clear.

The game is televised so whatever happens it has to be visual and will have to be based on the East and North Stands owing to the camera positions.

It has to be at the same time. Waving Pants would be good. Leaving at Half Time pointless as no-one would notice. However, leaving 5 or 10 minutes INTO the second half would be more effective. It would give the commentators something else to talk about. Turning our backs on play could be an option. Again, visual but only forTV.

My preference would be waving something or walking out.

If Rodgers had arrived in Summer,2008, I could fully understand talk of protests. However, he's been in charge for thirteen League matches. To talk of protest strikes me as ridiculous. The confidence of the players must be at a very low ebb, so they're going to be very nervous anyway; worrying that the crowd will be on their backs at the first mistake. It's a tough match tonight and Reading will need all the support they can get. I'll be watching in a South Shields pub, almost certainly the only person viewing there. It'll give me a chance to see for myself what so many of you are moaning about.

I've already said I'm going to sit in the hotel on Monday night and clap the servers. After all, a large amount of money appears to have been diverted to the hotel. You may be right, sounds the sort of woolly, pointless nonsense that would get a few people joining in with some cliched chants....

The insertion of the word 'turned' is a telling one.

Would have been interesting to have been at the meetings that the plans were put together.

It is more than a bit sad that there seems to be no idea that as fans we can do anything to make a difference. The attempts to co opt Pants Day show people have short memories about what that was all about.
