Time to ask the Chairman.....

by RoyalBlue » 19 Sep 2009 17:43

....what the hell is going on!

Come on guys, when are you going to put the man at the top on the spot. He's very happy to do his media slots when times are good but is strangely quiet now the going is tough.

For starters please ask him to explain in more detail where the money has gone. Above all, please ask him why we didn't sign Tommy Smith when we had the opportunity. Brendan Rodgers made it very clear that he was the player above all that he wanted. We had the chance to do the deal. Portsmouth only got in on the act after we spent an eternity trying to get one over Watford and sign Smith on the cheap.

I just want to hear how he tries to spin his way out of the current mess (I'm sure like a skilled politician he will fail to give any answer of real substance when it comes to money) and explain why his cloth cutting has left the team shivering naked in the bottom reaches of The Championship!

As I said, he's never slow to gate crash the plaudits but is very much keeping his head down now the going is tough.

That having been said, will any of our local media representatives ever have the guts to really push him for proper answers to difficult questions or are they all too fearful of 'the Hound treatment'?

For god's sake show some balls, get the Chairman on, ask him what the hell is going on and what the **** he is doing about it!!

Surely you are not worried about him throwing his toys out of the pram and banning you from his stadium?! Do you really care?

I doubt Reading FC would be so stupid as to ban BBCRB from having access to the club and players, officials etc. If they did it would make them even more of a laughing stock.

Get SJM in but beforehand, ask supporters to e-mail their questions in advance in order that the idiots can be avoided.

Running scared. They know they have screwed up. They are too ashamed to face the music.

Shirley, if they were so convinced they'd done the right thing regarding cutting cloth, getting rid of players, appointing Rodgers, they'd be more than happy to say so on BBCRB?

Why when no one listens to them anyway?

After tonight's likely farce people will be clamouring for some executive response from SJM and not the oily rags bleating company PR.

That being the case let's hope someone at BBCB can ask tough questions rather than let him get away with the usual cobblers.

TD just announced on BBRB that he hopes to interview SJM before the weekend.

Get fired up for it Tim even if he threatens to withdraw your half time sandwiches. Don't let him off the hook.

JM, any truth in the rumours that you are currently involved in negotiations to sell the club?

SJM is becoming very shy of talking to the supporters. The man who was never far away from the microphone in the good days is becoming a recluse. He and Hammond are hanging Brenda out to dry , leaving him to take all the flak for the financial decisions taken in the summer.
For all the considerable good things SJM's done for the club he's in danger of becoming a Doug Ellis type figure if the present situation persists.
Supporters are surely entitled to know what's happening with the sale of the club, or whether he'll release some funds to strengthen the team to ensure that we are not relegated.

Clearly, being in the relegation zone without a home win rather than low-mid-table means the management plan (squad, manager, budgets) has ... err ... failed. Mr Mad makes no secret of his willingness to sell to someone with the right finances, but I can't believe he would be so cynical as to drive the club value down as part of getting the sale-price right.

That said, his relationship with the club's public does feel positively reclusive, compared to say the days when he could drop into the pre-match pub at Tranmere and rally the fans. (I think I've said in other threads - what we're missing right now is visible leadership.)
