Sorry to be negative but at the moment we have at least 3 worse teams, depending on which formation the Irish one decides to pull out of his coaching manual

you make it sound like theres been many many more than the 4-5-1, and 4-4-2 that he, and most other managers use

4-5-1 (which has never managed to be the 4-2-3-1 it's supposed to be), 4-4-2 diamond, 4-4-2.

And 3-5-2, 3-4-2, 2-4-4, 8-2-0 and 4-2-4 have all been glimpsed at different points in games iirc.

and often a number of those in the same game! barnsley at home we start 4-1-2-1-2 (the 4 4 2 diamond and finished 3-5-2 or maybe even 3-4-3

In the away game at swansea I reckon we tried 4-2-3-1, 4 4-1-1, 4-1-4-1 and 4-2-2-1-1 at various stages in the game

It's a good thing that this run has happened at the beginning of the season, giving Rodgers or someone else time to sort it out. Most of our relegations have crept up on us in the later part of seasons, leaving too few games to react. Bad runs don't go on for ever, and I'd be surprised if ours lasted the whole season. There, I've almost cheered myself up.

Being the gentlemen we clearly are we all thought it was first out the door for a fag break.

If we can ride out the current shitstorm and show even a gradual improvement then actually there is still plenty to be optimistic about. We'll be financially stable again at the end of the season and will have bedded down virtually a whole new team in a year (including for the first time regular graduates from our own Academy). We'll have more of an idea at that stage how many of those currently in the squad are good enough to carry us forward as we embark on another "brick by brick" building of a new team on a new journey.

The greatest side (and years) in this club's history didn't happen overnight but were the culmination of several years of progress. The fact that this process began after some particluarly dark days and wasn't without its ups and downs along the way when pretty much all of the negative aspects being highlighted now were all highlighted back then as well.

It's how football is (unless you've got a massively wealthy and willing benefactor), was and always will be.

Things appear pretty desperate at the moment of course and the current team is in something of a hole but in the overall scheme of things we're still a fine football club with a fine future ahead of us.

As far as RFC goes, absolutely and totally nothing. I predicted relegation at the start of the season, so not surprised at the mess we are in although I did not think it would get so bad, so quickly. I honestly think that Rodgers is the worst managerial appointment in the club's history. Thank oxf*rd I can vent my spleen on HNA.

I have cracked it! This is all a brilliant tactical ploy by BR and the coaching team. One of two scenario do it for me:
